Tour Google’s Latest Pop Up in NYC

Google is and always will be just a fascinating company to me. Some of the things they work on and the different teams that they house sometimes overwhelm me because not only is it just a lot in volume and size, but Google has their hands on everything – apps, phones, home, maps, etc. Pretty soon, sometimes I worry that we won’t really need anything else because Google will just replace everything and make it better. I didn’t know that they opened a pop up recently in Soho until I read about it on Doobybrain, but definitely thought it was interesting enough to share. If you get a chance to view it in real life, you should!

The Aftermath of Black Friday

All I have to say is, thank god I don’t have to participate in Black Friday anymore whether it is as a shopper or as a salesperson working in retail. There used to be this sort of allure around Black Friday that kind of intrigued me and I can only remember it for one year. It was the night after Thanksgiving and my local mall was having this thing where they opened early and there was a performance and I was meeting up with my best friend and I was eating it all up. I don’t think it is like that at all anymore and this photo proves just how chaotic the whole event can be. This photo was taken at a Nike outlet in Seattle on Black Friday and it looks like the customers just came in and destroyed the place. How is this going to be a fun shopping environment for anyone? It’s one of the reasons why I can’t be bothered with shopping at outlets or thrifting anymore because it’s the sifting part that gives me such anxiety. Ain’t nobody got the patience for that – at least I don’t. -_-

Here’s hoping that all of you can stay safe and shop online (hello Cyber Monday!) or hopefully today you shopped for Small Business Saturday!

If you’ve been following my Instagram all summer, then you know these laser-cut Vince Camuto heels have been pretty much the only thing that I’ve been wearing with almost all of my outfits. I remember walking through Nordstrom the first time I saw these and doing a double take. I know what you’re thinking… “Laser-cut? Don’t you think those will be going out of style?” Well, maybe! But they are SO comfortable and they’re beautiful and I can wear them to work and to events and weddings and feel awesome in them. In fact, I wore them to both weddings that I attended this year and am planning to wear them along with my holiday party outfit too. For me, Vince Camuto is kind of a new brand, but one that I’ve been shopping a lot lately. We now have four pairs of shoes, a purse, and show no signs of slowing down.

What We’re Watching:

Happy Thanksgiving weekend everyone! I hope everyone is thoroughly stuffed and completely well-rested! I just spent the last few days in southern California with my relatives and decided to come home right before the weekend because these days I’m always craving more alone time at my home especially having been on the road on/off for the last two months.

As I type, I’m on episode two of the revival. Two things to note, 1) I rarely watch Netflix and by rarely I mean like 2-3 times a year. 2) I didn’t even watch the last 3 seasons or so of Gilmore Girls so I have no idea where they even left off! However, I get fomo so I didn’t want to be one of those people that wasn’t watching the revival, plus Kristie and I talked about it today before I left for my flight so we started episode 1 together.

Who else is watching?! We’ve always loved the mother-daughter pair and of course, I want to see who she ends up with!

Ojai Adventuring

Dress – Brandy Melville / Sandals – Qupid via Moorea Seal / Purse – Vince Camuto / Sunglasses – Kate Spade

We really love weddings. We also really love weddings that happen to be at a destination because it always allows us to explore another place that we’e never been to! Exploring Ojai with Erika was so much fun. What a cute little town! The morning/afternoon before a wedding, I usually like to take it pretty easy – that goes for both makeup and the outfit. The morning of, I tossed on my favorite casual black dress from Brandy, my sandals, and my purse. Since it was such a nice day, I felt weird wearing all black so I tied on a red bandana that has been my favorite accessory for the spring/summer season. In the photo, it looks a little funny, but I promise it looks so much better in person!

Gelesia’s Wedding Featured

Today was a BIG day for my friends and their weddings. Not only did Mandi share her wedding video with the world, but Gelesia’s wedding was also featured on Desiree Hartsock’s blog! (for those of you who are Bachelor and Bachelorette fans out there, you know who Desiree is!) In 2016, my two dearest friends had two amazing weddings and I’m so happy that I was able to be there for their special day.

Gelesia’s Ojai wedding was something of a dream – very pretty, romantic, and so very detailed. It was completely *her* What I love about G’s wedding is also how much time and effort she spent into a lot of the details ie) crafting the details of her table set up, making her bridesmaids’ skirts, etc. All of these amazing details were captured wonderfully by her talented photographer, Katie Pritchard, who we love and often see featured over at Green Wedding Shoes. I’ve picked just a couple of photos to give you a sneak peak, but you’ll want to click on over to the feature on the blog for much more!

Wedding Mondays

[vimeo http://vimeo.com/192204412]

I can’t believe we are finally getting to share this. It feels like I’ve been asking Mandi nearly every week since she got back from her honeymoon if the wedding video was ready yet. “Did you get it?” “Did they send it back?” “When is it coming?” I don’t want to say that we’ve been waiting for this day forever because we’ve been saying that about her and Eric’s wedding all along, but the wedding video is a close second!

Mandi and I haven’t had a chance to write about the wedding day yet (but we will!) but one reason why this wedding video is so special to us is – okay – scratch that I can’t speak for her – one reason it is important to me is because this entire day and weekend was so beautiful. I remember getting back from the wedding, not wanting to be back at work, and telling all of my colleagues just how amazing it was to be there with them in Yosemite. And as much as I could go on and on about, the pictures that I took (which weren’t a lot) are nothing in comparison to this video right here.

Also, for as long as I’ve been friends with Mandi, she has always known about Wedding Mondays. We talk about wedding videos all the time – the ones that I post, the ones of people we know who also get married and have wedding videos. When she chose Grimace, I had no doubts at all that this wouldn’t be something incredible. I’m not just saying that because Mandi is one of my closest friends. In fact, I posted about Grimace before she even chose them as a vendor so when she announced to me that they were the one – it was a perfect fit. The videography is so good. The drone wasn’t overkill. The music – just what we needed and the transitions – ohhhhh the transitions! Every detailed that I wanted to see made the cut. I could go on and on about this wedding video, but I want to stop typing and let you watch now.

Thank you so much to Mandi for sharing with us her wedding journey and also her wedding video.

*also hi! I made my very first wedding video debut.
