In news that warmed my heart this morning, the city of Seattle announced the lineup for Upstream Music Fest + Summit! This will be the first time that the city is doing something like this other than prev. City Arts Fest, but this event is actually meant to be more of a SXSW for the Northwest. One pass gets you good access to nearly 200 acts and you’ll be able to view shows around Pioneer Square at 25 different venues. What I love about this (and what I love about all Seattle music festivals to be honest) is just that there is such a focus on highlighting Seattle talent. Okay so AlunaGeorge is not a Seattle native, but for the most part, many of these acts are from the Pacific Northwest, which is AWESOME.
