It would be easy for me to use my next two weeks of “funemployment” to not do anything. The time in between transitioning jobs is so precious. I elected for two full weeks because the time I spent interviewing for a new job was grueling. It was constant, came in multiples a day, and didn’t give me that rest that I needed to go back in to a new job feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Previously though, I’ve had friends of mine that have taken a month off or months to just travel. I think that’s great, but instead I’m using my next two weeks to prepare myself for a lifestyle change (that comes with the job) and to see what it could be like to be a full time blogger. My eating habits are going to change and so will my commute with my new job. We’re going to discuss all of this more in a later post, but for now I want to talk about day 1 – my day today and how we’re going to set a precedent for the next two weeks and beyond.
I’ve never been someone that could live without a routine. However, I will admit that for the last 3.5 years of living here, the lines around what I thought was my routine have been blurred and inconsistent. I was (and am today) unfit, not eating healthy, and often tired. At a recent doctor’s visit for my annual physical, I was basically told that the time for change needed to happen… now. So while the next two weeks of sleeping in and eating junk may sound awesome to most, we’re not going to take the route. I want to do better because I want to feel better, but I’ve never been someone that could be held accountable for the goals I set for myself if I didn’t write them down. Every day:
It’s not an exhaustive list, but it’s a bit to keep track of in a day! Have any of you been in this time of transition before and if so, what did you list look like? Am I missing anything important? Would love any extra tips!
I knew big things were in the works for the Moonlight cast after nearly every single of them was outfitted in Calvin Klein last night, but didn’t know what exactly was coming our way. Turns out, they’re giving us an underwear campaign. Happy Monday y’all! I had a chance to watch Moonlight this week before the Oscars and I’m thrilled that they took home the big win for Best Picture and for Best Supporting Actor. I can’t remember the last time I saw a film quite like Moonlight and loved the cinematography and scoring beyond what I could describe in words. If you haven’t seen it yet, you should. It’s so beautiful and important. Also important, the cast killing it in this campaign. Sort of NSFW, but whatever – view at your own discretion!
The campaign features the stars of the film, Alex Hibbert, Ashton Sanders, Mahershala Ali, and Trevante Rhodes.
“Since the beginning, Calvin Klein’s underwear imagery has always made big statements about masculinity; the performances of these actors in ‘Moonlight’ affected us deeply and made big statements about masculinity in a different way. Somehow we wanted to bring the two together,” said Calvin Klein creative director Pieter Mulier.
Good morning everyone! Well, after that Oscars fiasco last night, I think we all need something that will distract us from remembering how awkward and embarrassing that was for all involved. I’m excited to share with you this morning a wedding video that Ashley and I got to pick out together while she was visiting last weekend. It’s a long one at 14:43, but as always, it’s worth the watch. Ashley and I were watching this between commercial breaks of The Walking Dead last Sunday so I think if you have a chance to watch it from beginning to end, you’ll be able to appreciate it more than we could. What we loved about this video was that every moment highlighted had a purpose. There’s a reason for it being 14:43! Longer wedding videos also give you a chance to really get to know the couple and every facet of their personality, which can’t be said for a lot of wedding videos most of the time. There’s a lot of love in this as well as joy, laughter, and fun. We hope you’ll enjoy the video as much as we did! Also here are a few of my favorite shots and if you’d like to see more, just head on over to Green Wedding Shoes afterwards.
We sort of have a crush on desert weddings lately!

WOW what an award show. We’re likely going to have a chat about all of the things that went on this evening, but for now – let’s just get to all of the red carpet details. There was a lot of fringe, a lot of neutral color tones and “Hollywood glam.” I’ll admit, when I watched the red carpet special, there weren’t many looks that blew me away right off the bat, but as the night went on, looks started to grow on me and we were able to figure out our top 5!
Give us a show featuring kidlets and some of our favorite bloggers and influencers and you’ve got our approval. This is the largest collection we’ve viewed so far at 130 looks. Phew!
Very timely post as we write this while watching the Oscars red carpet…!
We sifted through 90 looks out of Antonio Marras’ show and these were the ones that rose to the top for us!
