Tokyo Gifathon

[vimeo http://vimeo.com/223080635]

Very recently, I posted about James Curran’s Los Angeles Gifathon. I’m happy to share that he’s got one for Tokyo too! Every time I see one of his GIF tweets appear in my feed, they make me so happy. The loop is never all that long, but I find myself getting sucked in longer than usual. When James was in Tokyo, he constructed a different GIF for each of his 30 days. Enjoy! Make sure your sound is on for the full effect!

Beauty for Breakfast Pt. 33

When I received my Alison Brod Marketing + Communications package with this Clinique Gelato Cream in it, I thought it would be like any other body cream or lotion. I wrote it off because I had owned so many products like it before. Then one morning, I decided that I couldn’t avoid the adorable millennial pink packaging any more. The texture was smooth, creamy, and I honestly couldn’t get enough of it. The jar itself was so big and the cream was filled to the very top that I knew it would last me forever. Even after I took one swipe of it, it felt like I had barely used any and by then I had used it on both my legs and my arms. The scent is also incredibly yummy. I’ve never had anything quite like it and now I’m obsessed. I feel like all of my girlfriends need this at home. Buy your own here!

Weird Box

I love the internet. I stumbled across this “thing” this evening that lets you insert your Instagram handle and features your photos in a dramatic short film. I found it to be pretty comical and at times, maybe a little even ridiculous, but still all in good fun. I was actually surprised at how some instances could have been pretty accurate too. Try it yourself here!

Happy Pride!

T-shirt – Quip / Denim – Rag & Bone / Sandals – Qupid via Moorea Seal

Typically, I stick to one outfit photo a day, but today is PRIDE and I didn’t want to have to post this photo five months later. I actually wore this outfit a couple of days ago and received this tee from my friend’s company, Quip. This year, they made shirts just in time for the event. Coincidentally, my company did the same also, but I got this Thursday so I wore it to work on Friday which is when I got my company’s shirt. It’s 2017 and there is no reason to not stand by the LGBQT company. As a tech employee, I’m really proud of not only my company, but those in the community that support pride. I know that tech in the San Francisco Bay Area doesn’t always have the best reputation especially in the last couple of weeks, but those events do not define ALL of us. And trust – there’s a lot of us. Despite some of these things, I feel lucky to be in an industry that is strengthening efforts in supporting diversity, inclusion, and all communities. There’s still a lot of work ahead of us.

AutoDraw

Boy, do I have a new time waster for you. I just discovered AutoDraw this evening and this was clearly made for the person who can’t art at all. The tool lets you draw what you want, but then using artificial intelligence, predicts what you might be drawing and allows you to upgrade with a better version of your drawing. The final result ends up looking something along the lines of clip art, but at least you won’t have any squiggly lines. Enjoy!

What We’re Listening To This Weekend:

spotify:album:76290XdXVF9rPzGdNRWdCh

Listening to “Drew Barrymore” for the first time set a high bar for me. This isn’t the first time we’ve ever heard from SZA, but this album is taking off more than the last and I’m really excited about it. Today, we listened to the whole thing from start to finish during my workout. Initially, I didn’t think it was going to be the best “workout” music, but it was actually really calming for me and added a little bit of variation. We can’t complain about any track on “Ctrl.”

Sometimes It Rains Here

Dress – Aritzia / Cardigan – J. Crew / Shoes – Moms

Is it weird that when I think of combining black and blue together, I actually am reminded of “Black & Blue” as in… the album by the Backstreet Boys? It’s not even that great of an album, but it’s the only thing that sticks for me. The thing about the South Bay is that when it rains here, it’s not actually that cold. I can get away with not wearing a jacket all the time and even though it was raining this day, I was really only outside for a short time. Here, I’m wearing my Aritzia black knit dress (which I wear frequently) with a slit in the back and a cardigan that my mother gifted me with when I returned home over the holidays. I used to be the queen of cardigans and have them in every color, but not this one. This umbrella is a loaner that we borrowed from the office.
