Free MAC Lipstick This Weekend

We love free things, but not just anything free – only things that we absolutely love! With National Lipstick Day coming up this weekend, MAC is handing out FREE lipsticks to customers at their store on Saturday. The handouts begin as soon as they open and will last until they run out so you may want to head their early in case there’s a line. I’m never going to turn down MAC lipstick so you know I’ll be there and adding this as the first part of my errands for the weekend.

Enjoy!

Every Day in San Francisco

It’s official! I’m into week 2 of living in San Francisco and no surprise here – I don’t hate it. In a way, life has sort of been upgraded in a number of ways, new job, new city, new commute for awhile (not much of an upgrade,) new home, AND new photographer! I met Jimmy during my first day at work through someone on my team. He’s sort of “the photographer” for outings and events at the company and also just enjoys it in his spare time, but was trying to get more into fashion photography so of course I volunteered myself as a subject. I was really grateful to have had a number of friends / coworkers that I could go to at my last workplace to always take pictures for me, but now that I’m in SF, there’s something vastly different about these photos. I love incorporating parts of the city – the brick, the middle of the street shots, the signs.

Having our office in the Mission District means that we have so many elements to work with. Even though I haven’t known Jimmy for too long, we make a good team. I quickly warmed up to him and have felt pretty comfortable with him shooting me ever since. I’m not sure if it helps that we didn’t know each other too well or that his camera is 10x better than my iPhone. Also, he can access photo-enhancing software like Photoshop to utilize tools like Adobe color picker and wheel. I might have even heard about some unique Illustrator and Photoshop panels available online. Although, whatever’s happening is working!

This is from our 2nd shoot together as he’s also the one that shot me in West Hollywood previously too.

Selena’s Music Video Is Better Than Her Song and Her Singing

We don’t really care too much for Selena’s “try hard” in her latest music video, but if I HAD to pick out a few choice GIFs, well, I definitely know what they would be:

Soap eating. Why use a toothbrush and toothpaste when you can get straight to the point?

Chic regurgitation.

Eyelash curler to tongue

But are you ready for my favorite…? LIPSTICK EATING. Look at our girl pushing the envelope!

Fast Food Merch

Is it just me or is there something happening right now? Uber announced earlier this week that they were collaborating with McDonalds and that when you ordered them through UberEats, you’d also be getting some McDonalds merch – one of which includes a burger printed onesie. This is cool and all, but KFC is sort of doing a similar thing, and while I would never ever wear something like this, I’m actually more partial to the KFC merch than the McDonalds. Just look at this.

A Vending Machine for Homemade Meals

Now I haven’t done too much international traveling, but I’ll never forget my trip to Japan and how amazed I was by not only everything there, but the amount of vending machines everywhere! Those vending machines get so much use by the locals that it feels like such a norm as opposed to here in America. It’s also entirely normal to just buy decent food at a gas station according to my friends.

I loved this story about vending machine owner, Tadashi Yoshimoto, who refills his curry and rice concoction twice a day using rice that he grows from his own farm.

Color Factory in SF

photo cred | Curbed

One of the things that I’m looking forward to most about living in San Francisco is the opportunity to hit up all the events I’ve always wanted to go to! Living in South Bay, it was sometimes an inconvenience to drive up here on the weekends or stay late after work for an event, but now that won’t be an issue.

Since LA debuted their Museum of Ice Cream, I was extremely jealous that we didn’t have something like that here. Starting in August though, San Francisco will be in for a treat with the opening of “Color Factory!” Organized by the team behind Oh Happy Day and in collaboration with Jacob Dahlgren, Tom Stayte, Geronimo Balloons, Tosha Stimage, Andrew Neyer & Andy J. Miller, Jessica Hische, Carissa Potter, Randi Brookman Harris, and Stanton Jones, Color Factory will be an exhibition celebrating color and material featuring 15 pieces of work by the listed artists!

I don’t want to spill too much of what you can expect, but here’s a little teaser: a giant yellow ball pit, filled with 207,000 balls, a seven-foot lazy susan, serving technicolor treats from Chantal Guillon, Craftsman and Wolves, and Doughbies, a confetti room where visitors can experience the inside of a rainbow snow globe, and an all-yellow gift shop, with soft serve from Garden Creamery on tap, in a variety of yellow flavors. An entire exhibit with fun, color, amazing backdrops for your Insta, AND food?! What more could a girl ask for?

The Color Factory opens August 1st and you can begin buying your tickets here. I’m told they’re already starting to sell out so get yours soon for $32 a pop! I’m headed there opening night so standby for my own review of the exhibit and check out my Instagram August 1st for my immediate highlights on Instagram Stories.

Nick Jonas on BBC’s Pitch Battle

I know this song has been out for months, but I’m still so smitten with Nick Jonas and this twist on the way he sung it this time. *swoon* The extra people are a nice touch too.

My Friend Dahmer

Okay so when I was looking at this screen grab right here in the trailer, I thought this was going to be your standard coming of age type film. I didn’t really put two and two together that this was referring to the serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer.

Jeffrey Dahmer murdered 17 men and boys in the Midwest United States between 1978 and 1991 before being captured and incarcerated. He would become one of America’s most infamous serial killers. This is the story before that story.

The role of Jeffrey Dahmer is played by Austin & Ally star Ross Lynch and his performance in even the trailer has made him unrecognizable. I never would have thought that the Disney Channel star that I had previously watched could transform into a role like this, but I think that this is going to make him blow up. The trailer is haunting and eerie, but left me feeling sad afterwards. I’m looking forward to seeing what critics will say about it.
