The Florida Project

I’m such a little sucker for films that have kids in them! I remembered seeing the trailer for “The Florida Project’ recently during another film so when Manan asked me last Saturday if I wanted to see an almost 10:30 showing of the film, I couldn’t pass it up. Except, I almost did because that was going to end way past my bedtime. What I love about films like this is that the trailer is actually not the most accurate depiction of what the film is about. I thought I was getting a film about this young girl and her friends running around and I would’ve settled for that even without an actual plot. Anyways, Brooklynn Prince who plays “Moonee” in the film is such a gem. You can’t help falling in love with her and the same goes for William Dafoe – man is he aging quite well.

Five Favorite Holiday Treats

I’m not sure when Kevin and I started this tradition, but for the last few years we have somehow managed to acquire a ton of treats whenever we go home for the holidays. Kevin always likes to send a package that includes a variety of cookies and snacks all in different boxes, which is fun to open up. And this year, I decided to get into the mix by asking him to purchase a tin of popcorn for me with three different flavors (my favorite!) I might actually be the ONLY person that likes this though. Holidays are always for eating and I have no shame about my winter body during this time so let’s just get into this and discuss my five favorite dessert treats during these months!

1. It’s a weird holiday treat to be my number one choice, but it’s just how I feel! I love the idea of digging my hands into different flavors of popcorn and loving every single kind. White cheddar and cheesy corn for the win! I know some people really like the popcorn with chocolate drizzled all over it and the ones that lean on the sweeter side, but I was never a fan of those.

A Western

Top and Skirt – Brandy Melville / Hat – Nordstrom

It’s funny that I can now look at this photo and know that this outfit for me is completely outdated. I think that’s the fun part about capturing your look on a daily basis is that you can actually see your style evolution drastically change within a short period of time. Even today, I am still obsessed with this hat to the point where I wore it today and after seeing it in my photos for three consecutive looks realized that I probably need to purchase a new hat! I love this all black look and with the corduroy skirt especially because it sort of reminds me of my childhood and childhood pieces, but as a late 20’s something now, it almost feels inappropriate to wear something like this – let alone to work even! I clearly didn’t know that back then and I can confirm that those feelings didn’t come to mind at all, but that just goes to show how much my personal style is changing now just a couple of seasons later. We’re not ready to part with any of these items quite yet. The hope is that we can find a second life for them, but just not within the same outfit. 🙂

SZA on Saturday Night Live

https://youtu.be/n9CcLElrG6M

Guilty: Turning down plans from two separate people so that I could stay in and watch James Franco host SNL and SZA perform on it! Not seeing her in concert when she was here in San Francisco earlier this year was a missed opportunity. She is easily my favorite artist of the year though and if you haven’t jumped on the bandwagon yet, better start now. SZA performed “The Weekend” (my favorite) and “Love Galore” last night.
