Marchesa Cancels Upcoming NYFW Show

Absolutely no one is surprised that Marchesa will not be showing at New York Fashion Week next month. With the scandal directly tied to Harvey Weinstein, his wife Georgina Chapman and one half of Marchesa has been noticeably quiet in recent months. She had announced that she would be divorcing Harvey, but many wondered “is that enough?” One one side of the argument, you’re wondering what more she could do after seeking a divorce. However, on the other hand, you have to ask yourself if Georgina really was unaware of everything that went on. It’s not just the sexual assault that she may or may not have known about, but the fact that reports came out that Harvey threatened female celebrities and urged them to wear designs on the red carpet.

Believe me, there’s more that I want to know about this story, but at the same time, I’m tired. It was the straw that broke the camel’s back and now it’s too much. It almost doesn’t help me to know more of the details and to get the questions answered. As many of you know, I adored Marchesa. Since we’ve been posting runway collections to Yow Yow! I’ve featured Marchesa almost every season. I’ve wondered what it might be like to wear one of their gowns for an event or a wedding – anything, and this whole ordeal has been really upsetting, but more upsetting for everyone that had to become a victim of Harvey’s. It’s unclear how Marchesa can even make a comeback after something like this; maybe it’s best if they didn’t.

Thoroughbreds

Two upper-class teenage girls in suburban Connecticut rekindle their unlikely friendship after years of growing apart. Together, they hatch a plan to solve both of their problems-no matter what the cost.

I’m a fan of anything that Olivia Cooke (Me, Earl and the Dying Girl) is in and a new fan of Anya Taylor-Joy who got her big break from Split. This movie is a little bit of a thriller, which is why it’s interesting to me, but it also makes me feel sad knowing Anton Yelchin has passed and that this is one of his last films.

J. Crew’s Latest Swimwear Collection

Up until this past weekend, I haven’t ever thought about replenishing my swimsuit collection – at least not in the last few years. But now, I’m like which brand do I want to give all of my money to?! The reason why this thought has floated by me recently is because I’m headed to Palm Springs next month and I’ve sort of outgrown all of my older ones. There are so many great brands and lots of new and unique styles to choose from that it’s difficult to make a decision. Also, have swimsuits always been this expensive?! This was news to me.

I just purchased two new ones a couple of days ago, but I’m really impressed by this low-priced line that J. Crew just put out and now I’m reconsidering if I need a third swimsuit. Tops and bottoms will start around $22.50 while one-piece swimsuits will be in the $50 range (half of what I paid the other day for mine) Here are a few of my favorites:

Wedding Mondays

[vimeo http://vimeo.com/249238832]

I don’t have a Style Me Pretty or Green Wedding Shoes page to direct you to after watching this video today because I randomly stumbled upon it! While perusing different wedding video vendors, I came across this wedding video from Jesse and Glenn’s special day and it moved me to near tears. It’s not a surprise at all that it’s our Wedding Video for Monday and I hope you all fall in love with it as much as I did! The happy couple were married at Casa Loma in Toronto, Canada.
