A Collection Part 50

On average, the process of putting together one of these posts takes about three months. To find images, I have about 10 Tumblrs that I circulate through. Each post roughly has about 50 images, but today, this one has less. I’m posting this one now though because I’m close to 50 and there won’t be any other Tumblrs that I’ll be viewing within the next couple of months. It has also been three months since I posted A Collection Part 49. I’m telling you all of this because that is the only structure I have when it comes to making these. There are no themes. I don’t spend any time re-arranging them in a certain order. The differences in size of images would normally bother me anywhere else, but not here. There are no patterns for colors. I can’t explain to you why I selected this image over that one and I don’t want to. I look at these photos so quickly and I save them in an instant the same way a normal human being would fill out one of those personality tests that you’re not supposed to think too much about it. That’s it! Since the migration, every other post before this has been skewed to the left. Starting now and with post #50, we’re going to center it. It just looks better!

H&M’s Wedding Shop

When it comes to wedding gowns, fast fashion brands aren’t at the top of my list. In fact, they’re not even somewhere in the middle usually. I’ve got a high bar and I definitely wouldn’t be posting mediocre looks unless I believed in it. Earlier this week, H&M announced that they would be launching a wedding shop that would include both wedding gowns for the bride to be and dresses for wedding guests. That last piece is actually the thing that excites me the most. For those of you who have a handful of weddings every year and don’t want to reuse your dresses, this is probably a godsend. To shop the entire collection, click here.

Here are some of my favorites below that I know you’ll love:

FYF Fest 2018 Lineup

Okay, so it’s not the easiest to read, but isn’t this one of the best lineup announcement posters you’ve ever seen? V. 90’s. We approve. Janet Jackson is ready to make her comeback this year.

The Closet: March 2018

Warby Parker Coley frames in crystal – $95

We started off this post feeling extremely minimal, but a closer look will show you that we finally recognized it was spring. Therefore, COLOR! At least just a little bit sprinkled in. Spring time is typically the period when I refresh my closets, but I’m choosing to save a bit of money this year especially after all my travels so none of these will be bought. For now, they are just a part of my dream list and maybe if we’re lucky, we’ll snag at least one of these items. The thing I actually need though is a pair of new glasses! My current Warby Parker’s have been with me since 2012 and I’m pretty positive the prescription on those no longer matches my current one. If you had to pick one item from this list, what would you purchase?

Weekend Hues

Bandana – Amazon / Top – Nordstrom / Denim – Citizens of Humanity

Happy Saturday everyone! For the last four months, it has felt like I haven’t truly had a weekend entirely to myself – one without errands and without travel. Even though it’s the sunniest Saturday and I should be out and about, I’m pretty content just staying indoors and catching up on Yow Yow! I started the morning off with a facial (a birthday treat to myself!) and with takeout from one of my favorite lunch spots (Asian Box!) I can’t even describe to you how relaxing it feels to have a day without any other plans for the rest of it.

Many of the outfits that we’re still covering were taken when my office was still in the Mission. It was always so warm over there so that’s the reason behind why I never seem to have a sweater or a jacket on because I was absolutely roasting. I haven’t worn this look since, but I loved shooting against this millennial pink wall. It’s such a boy-ish look for me, but it’s kind of fun to mix things up every once in awhile. I’m loving these slightly baggy-ish high-waisted jeans and a cheap bandana to throw around my neck.

Wedding Mondays

It was only recently that I became a real fan of wedding speeches. When I was younger, I always thought, “meh, could do without it!” But the more I watch them, the more I listen to them, the more I see myself not getting enough of them. Ashley’s wedding from just a few weeks ago had me in more tears than laughter, but that’s what I love about these. You really never know what kind of emotion you’re going to have come out of you. This week’s Wedding Monday’s video is this Best Man speech that I saw posted from Doobybrain. It’s quite a long one and yes, I’m surprised I sat through the entire thing, but it had all of the feels. Hope you enjoy!

Anthropologie Home x Nordstrom

Anthropologie Seashell Measuring Spoon Set – $20

For years, I’ve spent hours just getting lost in the home section at Anthropologie. I envisioned having my first house and outfitting every corner with items from the retailer. It’s going to be one girly house, but my partner better be okay with that! Growing up, Nordstrom had never invested to much time into their home section, but as the years went on, that department grew larger. It was no surprise to me this week when I learned that the two would be merging together for the ultimate collaboration. Instead of purchasing your home needs only at Anthro, you never have two outlets – one that includes Nordstrom. As of this last week, Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom.com will carry your favorite Anthropologie Home pieces. To get you started, here are just a few of my favorites:
