Noah Centineo Steals Our Hearts In “The Perfect Date”

Keep giving Noah romantic comedy films! No one else needs to own this space, but him. How is it that he joins yet another Netflix rom com as another character and we still are not sick of him? Side note though, have any of you ever seen his Instagram Stories? I’m convinced that he’s a complete weirdo, but if we don’t have to see that kind of behavior in his films that I guess we’re okay with that.

In “The Perfect Date,” Noah aspires to go to his dream college, but like most high school students, is broke. Instead, he finds a way to earn some cash on the side by stepping in to be a fake date for other ladies. Yes, I know what you’re thinking. This DOES sound highly inappropriate, but of course because it’s him and because it’s Netflix, no one is really questioning it.

“The Perfect Date” will hit Netflix April 12th. *swoon*

Lisa Marie Fernandez

Is it just me or are we getting some major 70’s vibes here? I’m loving the big hair and the volume of the pieces. I never knew I could want 70’s inspired pieces as part of my wardrobe again, but this is calling to my heart strings.

Talking About 29

What a trip it was to turn 29 this year! I can’t say that I was most excited about this age because generally, I find it to be an unattractive number. It doesn’t have the cool factor of “27” or “28” and it’s certainly no milestone like “30.” It’s just a number (shrugs). It was, however, my favorite celebration.

Every year, my birthday becomes a whole thing. I love gathering all of my friends together in one place from all walks of life, but as a host, it’s stressful. Constantly, I am trying to make sure that everyone is having a good time and that they are mingling, and this year I said “Hell no!” to that. My friends are good people; I know this. As we get older though, the energy to extend friendships and meet people becomes more challenging and this year, I’ve accepted this. Why? Because I’m the same exact way! There was also no excessive drinking and for that, I am grateful. We are getting a little bit too old to put everything on my tab at the end of the night or sign up for bottle service.

So instead, I separated said birthday into sections. There was a time for myself – for self care – and a facial. Honestly, this is me every weekend so this is no different! I celebrated first with my coworkers by doing casual drinks after work, which expanded into dinner with a smaller version of that group. It was the best ever!

My coworkers surprised me on the Friday before my birthday with flowers and a cake from my favorite place – Whole Cakes!

Lastly, I happen to have a smaller group of friends that I spend time with together more often. On a monthly basis, we try to get together for dinners at a different chain restaurant. Even though it was my birthday, I didn’t want this to be any different. Since we hadn’t landed at McDonalds yet, I thought it would be the perfect occasion. It absolutely was!

That day, every person played a role from providing the lighter to light my candles on my Apple Pie cake, to engineering how this was going to be done and prepping the invite even for a small group of 8.

We ended the night at bowling; a sport that I’m not great at, but can appreciate. I think everyone had a good time and that’s the most important thing! There was no running around trying to catch up with everyone on life for minutes or asking if anyone needed anything. We could all just be in one place without all the hustle and bustle and it was perfect. Here’s to starting 29 with being a little less frazzled!

Thank you to everyone who made my week so lovely and sent me birthday wishes!

Rent the Runway Ventures Into Kid’s Clothing

The popular subscription service announced on Friday that kid’s clothing will now be added as part of their product offerings. Recently valued at over $1 billion, Rent the Runway is keeping up with momentum and expanding their market. The children’s targeted service will allow customers to rent out four pieces at a time and can include any kind of combination of clothing or accessories. These kids are operating on high fashion though and will have their pick of Milly, Marc Jacobs, Fendi and Chloe.

As a child, I could never keep my pieces clean as hard as I tried! If I were to use this service on a little one, it would definitely be for more special occasions. Then again, why rent if you have a washer / dryer? Are we, in general, getting out of hand with subscription services?

“We decided to do kids [clothing] based on the requests and pleas from our subscribers and community,” says Rent the Runway COO Maureen Sullivan. “I think people have realized it’s so impractical to buy your kids more expensive clothing — even though it’s so tempting — based on how infrequently kids get dressed up and how quickly they grow.”

Maren Morris Performs The Bones on Ellen

I mean, did any of you ever think you’d be seeing me post about a country music star on Yow Yow?! Taylor Swift doesn’t count. Maren Morris performed her latest single this week on Ellen and last week, we saw her live in concert. I, too, was shocked.

I first learned about Maren Morris years ago from a candidate of mine. He happened to be from the music industry and we were just talkin’ shop about who was up and coming. Country music has a very strong stigma to it. It has a reputation for being old-fashioned, twangy, and conservative. These stereotypes aren’t all that false. However, you all know in the last year, I’ve been on this power women kick which includes Maren and Kacey Musgraves. For me, they are the exception. My candidate encouraged me to give Maren a chance and while I was hesitant, I found myself loving her EP. She had had just a handful of songs at that time, but don’t even try and ask me how many times I had “My Church” on repeat. Likely, hundreds.

Her latest album “Girl” is exquisite and these days I find myself starting my work days with her album. Her live show last week in San Francisco did not disappoint. It was my first time at The Masonic – a beautiful venue in the city and her entire set was full of fun and no frills. What I mean by that is that she had a simple set and no outfit changes! She owned that stage, played every hit of hers and it was spectacular on her first headlining tour.

2019 Outside Lands

Y’all, after being in the Bay Area for 5.5 years, this is THE year that I go to Outside Lands. Of the headlines, I’m most excited for Anderson . Paak and Kacey Musgraves!

The Closet: March 2019

Sandy Liang Booth Pullover – $525

We may have curbed our spending habit, but that doesn’t mean we have to ignore the trends completely. I’m still keeping my finger on the pulse of trends because you just know that the markdowns will come once we hit the summer season. I might have to break my shopping habit at least for the next couple of weeks because Angel and I are headed on vacation! Since we’re friends, wear the same size and equally admire each other’s wardrobes, we’re doing something a little different for our trip. As we start to plan out our agenda for a whole week, we’ll also be visiting each other’s closets so we can outline together what we want to bring! What this means? Wearing our own clothes, sure, but also mixing it with each other’s clothes to make new outfits! Yes, we are quite unique.

Mango 100% Leather Fringes Jacket – $249.99
