Beauty For Breakfast Pt. 38

I have found my forever sunscreen! Now, I know we haven’t gotten to my Taiwan trip post yet, but I would’ve been fried if not for this. Of course, sunscreen was the one thing that I forgot to pack in my suitcase, but lucky for me I had this with Angel’s recommendation. Sunscreen is probably last on my list when I’m looking forward to shopping in part because I’ve never had a good one. Every thing I’ve bought has always been greasy, slimy and feels exactly like sunscreen. The difference in Biore is that it is lighter than your normal liquids and goes on smooth. It resembles something closer to my moisturizer that I use for my face than a typical body lotion.

I have no qualms when it comes to this sunscreen except that the container could be larger. I’m still using the same one that I purchased in Taiwan and milking it for every last drop, but will dread the day I actually run out. The good news is that you can buy this on [Amazon] no problem. The bad news is it won’t be as cheap as it was in Taiwan. I wish I had purchased myself a handful of these, but instead I just brought a couple back for Kevin.

Target’s 20th Anniversary Collection

Altuzarra for Target Women’s Long Sleeve Deep V-Neck Wrap Dress – $50

There is nothing that I love more than designer pieces at a discount. Now, I could spend hours perusing my local Crossroads Trading on Fillmore or I could wait for Target’s 20th Anniversary Collection comeback of designer collaborations. And I think I’ll wait! At the very least, waiting means I know exactly what I’m getting. If you dig back into our archives then you’ll notice that I’ve been following these Target collections closely for years. Honestly, I’m not the only one. Going through the recent look book was a throwback for me and I can remember these pieces clear as day. Years have passed and not much has changed because I still want them. Now here are my favorites:

Anna Sui for Target Women’s Metallic Circles Sleeveless Round Neck Shift Mini Dress – $50

Mark your calendars. On September 14, the revived collection will arrive both in stores and online at Target.com!

Winter Red White and Blues

Jacket – Topshop / Turtleneck – Mom’s / Skirt – Aritzia / Boots – Something Navy

A San Francisco winter won’t stop be from bare legs during this season. The thing that will though is rain. No one wants to walk into a place dripping water everywhere. However, if it’s even just a little bit brisk outside, there are so many fall and winter skirts that just won’t bode well for the summertime. One of those is my red corduroy skirt from Aritzia which pairs well with my Something Navy white boots (my favorite purchase of 2018!) and my mother’s turtleneck.

While the skirt does wrinkle easily and it’s tough to prevent when I’m sitting at my desk for 50% of my day, I don’t have time to care. Is there any other way to prevent this other than just having a constant steamer going at my desk throughout the day?

Lizzie McGuire’s Revival

In news that I thought would never happen, Hilary Duff is reprising her role as Disney Channel star Lizzie McGuire. Growing up as a pre-teen/teenager is hard enough, and Disney got that. It’s the reason why they created series like Lizzie McGuire, That’s so Raven and Even Stevens so that we could all realize that everything we felt was normal. Also, it was a reminder that your awkward moments will never come close to your worst moments.

In the sequel series return, the show will follow Lizzie as a 30-something living in New York City. Other than Hilary herself, there’s no word yet on who will be back except for the original showrunner. Terri Minsky is the woman behind the creation of the show and will share with us the story of Lizzie all grown up.

Hilary Duff announced the news officially today on her own personal Instagram account.

American Factory Trailer

It’s no surprise that since I work in recruiting that I have a natural curiosity for jobs. In my line of work, it’s quite siloed to technology, but these aren’t the only jobs that exist in our country. Factory work spans the United States and even though we don’t hear about it as much, it’s still vital to our day to day. This documentary will be released on Netflix August 21st and I’m looking forward to watching it!
