After spending last week in Seattle and being hit hard with a burst of cold, I couldn’t wait to get back to California. Upon arrival, we celebrated a week that was high 70’s and 80’s and I felt blessed. While it feels a little abnormal to still be wearing dresses and walking out the door without a jacket, it is something I’m not going to take for granted. Now that we’ve hit the weekend, the transition from summer to fall is getting real. As I type, I’m perched up right next to my space heater and cozied up in my warmest wool sweater. There are so many pieces that are essential for fall that you just couldn’t get away with in summer. Here are my favorites for the month of October!
I’ve had my fair share of desserts in life and I was convinced that I’ve tried it all. However, nothing could prepare me for what was [U Dessert Story]. The menu items are complex, extravagant and more than enough for one person. This was shared between myself and two other friends, but I think we could have added a fourth and still been content. Their website states that their desserts are exceptional (truth) and influenced by Korean, Japanese, and Thai passion. You can’t go wrong with anything you order there, but we were highly recommended to try either their Bingsoos or their Toast. Picture above is the Mango Sticky Rice Toast with mango puree and mango ice cream!
For someone who doesn’t even own AirPods, it’s surprising to even myself that this is the second time I’ve blogged about AirPod cases. Is it completely wrong that I want to own AirPods just so I can have a cute case? Honestly, does it even matter? This case is a playful way of paying homage to the OG Apple monitor and we love it. I love seeing a timeline of how far Apple products have come over the years and this merger between the two is awesome. If you’re looking to own these and keep your ‘Pods safe, you can buy the case [here] from elago. I don’t know how this fairs in comparison to other cases, but $13.99 doesn’t seem so bad!
In the last couple of years Oak + Fort has become one of my favorite brands. While it is stylish, I think the part that appeals to me the most is the comfort. At first glance, rarely anything looks flattering on me because it is all oversized. Interestingly enough, it’s the thing that I love the most about it. I grew up with much of the clothing around me having to be “tight” and “fitted” as per what was trendy at the time, but it never fit my personal style. I’ve had this oversized brown sweater dress for over a year, but it’s one of my favorite things because I can literally toss it on and go.
Fun fact: It’s also very warm so it’s perfect for a night out in the summer or through the fall and winter seasons.
