Experiencing Travel Withdrawals?

It’s wild to think that I’ve now gone six months without leaving the city at all! Reflecting back on it, I’m not as stir crazy as some other people I know who have already taken their trips during the pandemic so we’re doing alright. I do, however, have a mini trip outside of the city planned and now that it’s on the books, I’m very much looking forward to it. Diptyque feels your pain though. As part of their collection last year, they created a set of candles based on popular destinations. Back then those candles were only available in their respective traveling destination cities. Due to popular demand, they are now back for a week and can be purchased online starting today! Shop the candles now retailing at $74 USD [here].

Anna Sui

Through the years, my love for Anna Sui has grown deeper and deeper! Her intersection between feminine and slightly goth is a style that speaks to me. It’s not anything I ever thought I would love growing up, but it’s the collection that you gravitate towards because it’s intriguing.

Portable Boba Straw

I have a friend who would love this as a gift! In an effort to be more sustainable, [Final] has created a reusable, collapsable boba straw that you can take with you on the go. Attaching itself to your keychain, you’ll have it ready for any last minute drop in to a boba shop. The straw comes in five different colors and is being sold for $12.95 USD [here]

Lunya

[Washable Silk Set] – $178

Now that I’ve had all this time to spend at home, it really doesn’t make sense to get dressed up every day. Denim jeans are no longer the first thing that I gravitate towards. I may not be as active when I’m working from home and milling about between four different rooms, but I want to be comfortable nonetheless. After comfort, the second thing that I want to prioritize is feeling good. Getting ready and putting a face on helps me to feel awake. The combination of these two things is what has drawn me towards [Lunya] recently. While I don’t own any pieces by them yet, I’m keeping my eye on them.

Known for specializing in comfortable sleepwear and inspired by off-duty ballerinas, there’s no reason why you can’t mix and match these pieces and find a way to incorporate them in your daily wear. Here are just a few of our favorites!

[Cool High Rise Pant] – $138

[Restore Short] – $68

[Restore Pocket Legging] – $98

[Prima Silk Chiffon Set] – $278

How Reality TV Shows Cast the Right People

One of my favorite past times is going to the MTV Casting Call page to see what I’m eligible to be featured on. I’ve been doing this for many years, but I’m way past the age for this to be acceptable! At my last employer, I worked with a few individuals responsible for casting. It is the most fascinating process! In this video, we see an insider’s view of how casting is done on one of my favorite most wholesome reality shows. The secret? It’s the stories that are being casted prior to the individual themselves. When you think about it, that order of steps makes perfect sense. It’s also one of the reasons why this job is so difficult in the first place.

Selena Gomez x Allure

While the pandemic has proven to be much more challenging on all of our lives, it’s amazing to see how people persevere when they don’t always have their normal resources. For one, editorials and magazine shoots are at is most innovative. In the latest issue of Allure, Selena Gomez is responsible for all of her own makeup. It doesn’t hurt that she’s also promoting her new cosmetics line, Rare Beauty, so she’s no rookie here. Given the circumstances, everything is getting done with a smaller team and smaller production. It just goes to show what we can accomplish when we’re constrained! We love this entire look though. For the full interview, you can read the cover story at [Allure].

This is my favorite shot.
