I’ve forgotten how long putting this list together takes, but to no surprise, we’ve consumed quite an amount of music this year. With more time inside and working from home, I had my playlists on a cycle from the time I started getting ready for the day until I was preparing for bed. One change that we’re introducing is that we’re bringing this countdown to 100 (finally!) After going through this process for 11 years, it felt time. Even with a year like 2020, there was enough music released to also get to 100 favorites easily.
We utilized the Wrapped playlist that Spotify created, but I don’t always find it is 100% accurate. I went through a huge K-pop phase over the summer, which may have also skewed that playlist heavily. Yesterday, we took a few hours to run through the playlists I made for seasons this year and I was able to pick out some that I personally know I had on repeat, but didn’t make Wrapped. There’s also songs from the fall/winter season that have become my favorites that would never have a chance of making the Wrapped playlist because they haven’t had as much time to be played.
