The holidays are the prime period of time when nearly everyone is either looking for love or is already in it. Over break, I discussed with my friends the idea of it when the question came up, “Who deserves love?” Well, everyone…right? If you would like to be a part of one of the elite, as a prospective member you must go through a strenuous process in which the site managers over analyze your pictures to a tee to determine if you are pretty enough. Over the holidays, however, the site managers did a double take on nearly 5,000 accounts when they noticed that oops! holidays also mean that you eat more!
So, the site kindly kicked out 5,000 members, encouraging them to reapply “when they’re looking their best” and go through the rating process again. The founder of the site explained this move saying, “As a business, we mourn the loss of any member, but the fact remains that our members demand the high standard of beauty be upheld. Letting fatties roam the site is a direct threat to our business model and the very concept for which BeautifulPeople.com was founded.’’
