Goodbye J.D. Sallinger

“What really knocks me out is a book, when you’re all done reading it, you wished the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it.” – Catcher in the Rye

🙁

Another day, another author gone. Catcher in the Rye is one of my favorite books! I remember reading this book for english in high school and loving Holden’s witty and sarcastic remarks. In fact, many of the lines in the book sound like were written for A Softer World – my favorite photography comic website. Today, the famous author passed away. J.D. Sallinger, thank you for all of your work. You will be missed.

How Fierce It Felt to Fly

Emily Horne and Joey Comeau created A Softer World, a site where she takes the picture and he makes up the comics. They’re actually pretty funny I would recommend you check it out. But this one sparked something in particular – a playoff on “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost. I just remember spending nearly a month on this poem during english class this year and I think every time I’m reminded of this I think of my teacher and analyzing this poem until no more could be done.

I’m still editing photos trying to get everything ready for the end of the year. Things are going along pretty well though, the snow gives me lots of time to do whatever I have to get done.
