Average Number of Kisses

When I was 13, I became a huge fan of my favorite ABC Family television film Lucky 7. Have any of you seen it? Basically the synopsis is this…when Amy was a little girl, her mother created for her a timeline before she died outlining the life that Amy might have which includes studying abroad, running for student council president, and having seven boyfriends. The 7th boyfriend was ultimately the one that she would marry, but Amy had thought she had found Mr. Perfect at number 6 so she was finding herself to be in somewhat of a dilemma.

While blogging this morning, I stumbled across a very interesting read about the average number of kisses a woman will have before finding her life partner. Among the stats are how many sexual partners they will have and one night stands (which okay, isn’t that important.) Anyways, I thought it would share because it reminded me of my old time favorite film and while it isn’t spot on – it’s pretty darn close.

According to a study conducted by eHarmony, women will lock lips with 15 people before finding Mr. or Mrs. right. Moreover, both sexes will go on four terrible, horrible, no good, very bad dates. Women are likely to get stood up once before finding forever love, and men will be stood up twice. The average woman will have four one-night stands, while the average guy will have six. Women will have sex with seven partners, while men will have sex with ten partners before finding the person they want to marry.

All of this average talk refers to the 2,000 British adults eHarmony polled. But, do you find it to be true? There might be only one way to find out. (Hypervocal)

What does everyone think? Is this accurate for you at all?

Pretty Little Liars Spin-off Ravenswood

ABC Family completely did a 360 on their network when they signed on Pretty Little Liars. Now that they know what’s working for them, they are using it to their advantage. Their hit series Pretty Little Liars will have its own spin-off later this fall called Ravenswood. The plot will “center on a town, not far from Rosewood, PA (the home base of Pretty Little Liars), which has suffered under a deadly curse for generations. Five strangers suddenly find themselves connected by this fatal curse and need to dig into the town’s mysterious and terrible history before it’s too late for each of them.”

Song of the Day

Madi Diaz – Heavy Heart

Generally the songs I choose late at night tend to be a little softer while the ones I choose in the morning to start my day are upbeat. Has anyone noticed the pattern yet?

I first heard this song on an episode of Pretty Little Liars and oh! how fitting because the Pretty Little Liars Halloween special returns tonight at 8PM on ABC Family!

Seeing Double

The Lying Game
Vs.
Ringer

I had high hopes for Ringer, I really did. I’ve been a huge fan of Sarah Michelle Gellar since I was kid after watching her in every episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer so I was thrilled to see her return to television once again. What I wasn’t excited about was the plot. Ringer is about a young woman named Bridget, a recovering alchy and former stripper/prostitute, who has a twin sister completely opposite of her – wealthy, not a hot mess, has a hot husband and a secret lover. Steamy. Near the beginning of the episode, the two sisters meet up and take a ride on Siobhan (the rich sister’s) boat in the Hamptons. This is the weirdest spelling I’ve ever seen for this name. Why didn’t they just name her “Shivan” so that the silent “b” and random “io” don’t have to confuse me? Anyways, Bridget somehow falls asleep on the boat and when she wakes up, Siobhan is gone. She drowned – so Bridget believes. Then Bridget decides to completely step in and take over her life. I know that CW doesn’t have a huge budget since they’re packing so many shows into their fall lineup, but the quality on this show just looks awful! There was a horribly obvious green screen behind the boat while they were on the water that made me cringe in my seat.

#awhellno they can’t be doing this to THE Sarah Michelle Gellar. She deserves to not be in front of a green screen. This hour was long. At times, it was unbearable and at this point I cannot see Ringer making it past more than one season. The only high point of the show was the ending because that’s when the twist actually takes place and not just because it was the end of the hour. I’m going to give it the benefit of the doubt and watch one more episode next week before I decide to let it stay in my fall lineup or give it the boot.

Has anyone been watching The Lying Game though? I didn’t realize until tonight after watching Ringer how much more I loved this show. It is essentially the same plot line except both twins are alive (except in the books, one is dead.) It’s interesting how similar these two shows are though because there is also a secret lover in The Lying Game and one sister comes from nothing and one is well-off. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I think the young actress that plays both roles does a better job than Sarah Michelle Gellar. Who will win the battle in the same plot television series? My money’s on The Lying Game.

What I’ll Miss About Greek…

On Monday night, I watched my last episode of Greek ever. After four seasons, the ABC Family series finally came to an end and I just wasn’t ready to let it go yet. This is going to sound super silly, but I find myself getting incredibly attached to certain television shows. I can accept growing apart from television series like Grey’s Anatomy because I went through the stages of not having time to watch it, then falling so far behind that it was impossible to catch up. In my eyes, it was a mutual break up – sort of. However, I’ve watched Greek for the past couple of years and though I did not start watching the series when it first started, I spent a whole summer day watching the marathon to get caught up. The students of Cyprus-Rhodes have always had a spot in my Monday night TV time and a place in my heart. [swoon]

I think a large part of why I enjoyed the show so much was because I went through my entire college career without being in the Greek system. Well, Seattle University doesn’t have one so I didn’t really have a choice, but had I gone to another university, I’m almost sure I would have been involved. Through Greek, I was able to live vicariously through their experiences. At some point, I knew this day had to come. You can only attend college for so many years… In honor of Greek, I would like to dedicate this post to what I will miss most.

Casey and Ashleigh’s friendship was the epitome of all friendships! I’m pretty sure everyone was envious of this relationship, but the best part about the two of them was that they were relatable. They were the friends you fought with and had spontaneous adventures with. It was easy to identify with either Casey or Ashleigh and if you didn’t you probably wished you had a best friend just like them.
