UltraBOOST DNA in “Topography”

When it comes to my own wardrobe, bright hues are not what I gravitate towards. My sneaker style though is much different! It’s the part of my outfit that I’m not afraid to be colorful for. I don’t consider myself much of a runner, but I actually love these neon colors together so much. I have also been watching a new K-drama called “Run On” in which, you guessed it – the lead is a runner so this is likely my subconscious telling me I need these.

The majority of this UltraBOOST is covered in “Solar Red,” but it’s the supporting magenta and navy colors that make this unique. “Topography” is even a fitting name for this as it reminds me of my previous science classes growing up. As of right now, there is no set release date, but the shoe is slated to be sold at $180 USD.

adidas UltraBOOST DNA in “Cloud White”

I’m loving this moment that plain white sneakers are having. Growing up, I was attached to my Keds, but as I got older, I started gravitating towards what I would consider an updated basic. This adidas UltraBOOST satisfies the foundation of a white sneaker with metallic accents. Doesn’t the touch of silver make this more sleek? This “Cloud White” is a minimalist dream, but with an edge. It’s now available on the [UK webstore] for $180 USD. We need these!

Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale

[BLONDO Waterproof Hiker Boot] – Originally: $175.95 // Sale Price: $99.90

Any other year, we’d be planning much farther ahead for how we’re going to approach the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. In COVID-19 times, I’m left with a big question mark. Even though I’m getting more comfortable with online shopping, it isn’t my preferred method. Do we throw in the towel altogether because it’s not as important this year? Will we still need fall pieces when the new season turns? I haven’t quite made up my mind yet, but I figured the first step could be browsing the virtual catalog and going from there. I’m being especially picky this year because I’ve started to treat myself more lately with other items, but I want to be mindful of saving as well. Here are a few pieces that have caught our eye!

[Zella High Waist Studio Pocket 7/8 Leggings] – Originally: $65 // Sale Price: $42.90

You can never have too many leggings. Earlier in quarantine, I thought that I might become a runner and was told that leggings with pockets were ideal for holding your keys. This seems like more of a functional buy for me rather than style!

adidas UltraBOOST in Pink Tint

I’m predicting by the end of the year we’ll have another pair of UltraBOOSTS in our possession, but the real question remains. Which pair is it going to be? In this latest eco-friendly sneaker, adidas uses yarn that was created in a collaboration with [Parley for the Oceans] – a non-profit bringing awareness to the fragility of the ocean. This UltraBoost is now available on the adidas website and retailing for $180 in “Pink Tint/Cloud White.” While we’ve been looking for a very classic and clean white, I love this off white. The pink is subtle, but it does add something and is the perfect every day sneaker.

An adidas Paris OG

Every day for work, I was always wearing some sort of a heel. Despite it probably being the most comfortable footwear and something I love, you just wouldn’t catch me in sneakers. However, in COVID times, the footwear has completely reversed! It makes no sense to wear heels to the grocery store or for a five-minute coffee run and instead I opt for sneakers because it’s the most functional choice. Looking at my options, I really only go back and forth between my adidas ultraBOOST and my Nike fly knit racers. What I’m lacking is a classic all white pair.

That’s where this adidas Paris OG sneaker comes in. It’s the exact pair that I’m looking for that I didn’t know I needed until I saw it. As classic as it may be, it’s going to be a pair that is sought after. Even priced at a reasonable $105, there are only 500 pairs that are available and you have to enter a drawing to even be considered.

Gearing Up For Pride [Sneaker Edition]

Due to COVID-19, Pride events aren’t being held like they normally would be next month. That doesn’t mean that Pride Month isn’t being celebrated. Nike, Converse, and adidas have all released their pride-themed sneakers ahead of the month and we are big fans. I especially love this one by adidas (above) that has parts of the sneaker itself in a designated color. If you’re wanting that all-over look though, Converse (bottom right) is the look for you. And for the minimalist – we’ve got Nike (bottom left.)

Sneaker Roundup

When it comes to buying new sneakers, I lean towards versatility. That means it will typically be in monochrome colors like classic white or all grey or all black. For the longest time, you used to read articles about how sneakers were meant for active and casual wear. 2020 is spelling out something quite different. For the last few seasons, all I’ve been seeing sneakers paired with are dresses, but short and long, casual and dressed up. I’ve even seen a few pairs of Yeezy slides while out and about too, which look insanely comfortable. At this point, I’m convinced you can pair sneakers with just about any type of dress and no one would say a thing.

If that’s the case, then that means we’re good on these forever and there are no rules. In the last week, Hypebeast and Hypebae have shared two new styles that have caught my eye from both Converse and adidas respectively. Above is the adidas Originals’ Falcon Sneaker in a blush pink with beautiful gold accents. The shoe itself is made with both mesh and suede paneling. Starting today, they are available [here.]

We’ve seen it in swimsuit trends recently; this throwback to more retro styles so it’s no surprise that this has made its way to sneakers. I’m loving the two toned colors on Converse’s Chuck 70 Renew Hi and Ox. The Hi will be sold for $95 USD and the Ox at $90 USD. Which pair are you leaning more towards?

Camel + Cut

Sweater – Aritzia / Denim – Frame / Purse – Marc Jacobs / Sneakers – adidas

I always feel some sort of pressure taking an OOTD right after the New Year. Like it’s supposed to be this grand event because you’re kicking off the new you. As you can see, I put a little bit more effort into my hair this day, but the rest out of the outfit might be considered out of character for me. During this quarantine, I have been living in my leggings rather than my dresses and it feels abnormal for others, but also myself! I generally consider “camel” to be a neutral, minimalist color. In 2020, I am loving it more than ever having both a camel colored trench and trousers on my wish list.

At first sight, this Aritzia sweater wasn’t my first pick. It was actually my mom’s! After trying it on with a pair of pants, I knew I needed another casual sweater. I like how it’s also in between a crew neck and a turtleneck.
