IBM’s Smarter Cities Billboard Campaign

When I was kid, I used to be enamored with billboards. I liked the way they looked the way they were designed, and their purpose. Of course back then, advertisements were pretty bland. They’ve gotten a lot more interesting these days, which is why I wanted to share with you the “Smarter Cities” billboard campaign by IBM. Not only is it getting across a message, but it serves another functional purpose. Could we get this one above here in Seattle? I think the locals would love it.

Miranda Kerr For Mango Summer 2013

photo cred | via WhoWhatWear

She may not be a Victoria’s Secret angel anymore, but the woman is WORKIN’ it. Literally, she’s still working – she’s not ever really going to have a problem with that. These new shots for Mango are absolutely flawlesss.

Emma Stone For W

These photographs by Juergen Teller have actually been out for a couple of weeks now, but I didn’t want to post them until I had the full spread of photos right in front of me. I don’t really like the way that Emma Stone looks on this cover because though she exudes innocence, she also looks child-like and as a viewer, it feels a little bit creepy. However, I’ve always been a fan of Juergen Teller’s work. He’s the man behind all of the Marc Jacobs ad and I’ve adored his work so much that I remember even including him in my final project for History of Costume Design during my freshman year of college on how different forms and outlets will change the way we look at fashion. Advertisements were one of them.

Daria Werbowy for Maiyet

photos courtesy of WhoWhatWear

Model Daria Werbowy is a vision in Maiyet’s S/S 2012 new campaign. I really like the concept of this campaign being so simple especially since recent campaigns have appeared to be overdone in my book and at times a little “too much.” View all of the photos for Maiyet here.

One in the Same

Style blogger Tavi Gevinson and singer Cyndi Lauper are both starring in a new campaign for Uniqlo. These two women are complete opposites age-wise and career wise, but somehow these advertisements just make sense to me. It’s such an interesting collaboration, but unique in that I would have never imagined these two to be put together.

Michelle Williams For Boy By Band Of Outsiders

Michelle Williams has been a style icon dream during the last year so when I heard that she was recently tapped to be included in the Boy By Band of Outsiders campaign, I was thrilled! Boy By Band of Outsiders has always produced collections that have resonated with me, but I especially love that the simple campaign ideas are reflected in Polaroids. It gives it a very classic vibe that also pulls at our nostalgic heart strings.

Check out the rest of the campaign photos here.

Karlie Kloss for Oscar de la Renta

all pictures courtesy of Fashionista

Oscar de la Renta has picked up the young model to be featured in their latest Spring 2012 ad campaigns. Doesn’t she look fabulous? That dress – I want. That belt – I need! Oh and Karlie’s face – the HBIC is back! Of course she never went anywhere in the first place, but it’s the look that lets all of us know that she’s here to stay.

Mila Kunis for Dior

It looks like Mila and her former Black Swan co-star Natalie Portman have another similar project in common. They’ve both been tapped to work with Dior as brand ambassadors. Here are some of Mila’s new spring campaigns shot by photographer Mikail Jansson. The advertisements will be featured in the pages of magazines as early as January 15th first internationally and then in American fashion magazines like Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue.
