Anne Hathaway’s “Pillow Challenge”

In times of COVID-19, we are seeing celebrities dip way back into the past and reviving things that bring us a bit of joy and nostalgia. Fashion seems to be at a standstill during this time, but that hasn’t stopped people from getting creative with the “Pillow Challenge.” In a recent Instagram post, actress Anne Hathaway took part in it and with a nod to her former character as “Princess Mia” from “The Princess Diaries.”

2019 Golden Globes Red Carpet

Our host and new Golden Globe winner, Sandra Oh, in Atelier Versace

I’ve been looking forward to writing this post all day, but I usually have to wait until the end of the show for all of the photos to come through. This year’s Golden Globes is special to me. As I get older, I have the opportunity to watch more of the films and shows being nominated than when I was a kid. I also am able to comprehend more of it. There are quite a few things that I’m particularly excited about this year. Sandra Oh was nominated and won and co-hosted the evening. Crazy Rich Asians was nominated and while they didn’t win, the nomination is huge. Lastly, the outfits on the red carpet were outstanding. As I was watching the red carpet today, I already knew it was going to be hard to choose just five best looks for later.

Jodie Comer in Ralph & Russo. Maybe my most favorite villain ever.

Anna Wintour to Stay at Vogue ‘Indefinitely’

Looks like we can finally put to bed the rumors of Anna Wintour leaving ‘Vogue!’ That’s great for us because honestly, did anyone actually want her to leave? As these rumors have been popping up, I imagine that exact same scene that occurred in “The Devil Wears Prada” where Meryl Streep tells Anne about all the people that would leave with her if she were “out at Runway.” Many thought that this upcoming September issue would be Anna’s last, but the rumors have officially been squashed as of this week.

CEO Bob Sauerberg took to the Conde Nast Twitter account yesterday to clear the air:

2018 Met Gala Red Carpet

Amal Clooney in Richard Quinn with George by her side

Before I left the office tonight, my friend and coworker, Courtney, remarked that tonight’s Met Gala was the equivalent of a Super Bowl to anyone else. She wasn’t wrong! I put in the extra hours of work this weekend so that I could free up my Monday evening to work on crafting this post. Before I came home, I also went out for a glass of wine with a friend so that I could a) appreciate every look for the piece of art that is and b) to let my true opinions for every outfit shine through! Throughout the day in all my meetings, I was closely watching the coverage seeing bits and pieces here and there, but never spoiling it all for myself until I was able to digest it when I got home. I can’t imagine a better photograph to kick start this post.

This year’s 2018 exhibition was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.”

2016 Oscars After Party

Brie Larson in Monse

This is my favorite because The Oscars red carpet tends to be very grand and conservative, but the after party is when things start to get a little bit sexier and you know all the stars that weren’t invited to the actual award show get to come out so that’s nice for them.

We HAD to kick this post off with Brie. Honestly, how could we not? Also, oh my goodness – is she wearing pink velvet? She not only was the best dressed of the night, but clearly the most comfortable the rest of the night. We just want to be friends with her.

2015 Met Gala

Anna Wintour in Chanel – she hosted the whole thang so she had to be first.

It killed me that I couldn’t post every look and have this ready to go for you all this morning! I was so excited to see some of the looks from the Met Gala yesterday evening and then a part of me knew that I would hate some looks as well. With the theme being, “China: Through the Looking Glass,” I was concerned that there would be jabs poked at stereotypes and Asian trends that would make me cringe. Of course there were, but like all things, we have to move on and not dwell on them. In the interest of saving time (and space!) I am choosing not to include looks that I felt were in poor taste.

2014 Met Gala

I can’t believe it’s time already for the most fashionable night of the year! It’s crazy to think that a year has already gone by. I feel like I was making the 2013 post just last month. This year’s theme is White Tie and Decorations.

Of course we’re kicking things off with Queen Bey and Jay.

Oscars 2014 Red Carpet

Lupita Nyong’o, in Prada

The red carpet was packed with actors and actresses meant for the best dressed list. We’ve reached the end of the Award Show season (I think) and this was probably the best way to close it out. Lupita has pretty much hit it out of the park for every award show. That alone, should earn her an award.
