Summer Stripes

Dress – Azalea / Rings – Various boutiques

We practically lived in this dress this past summer. There’s nothing better than having that one dress that you can throw on for just about any occasion. You might think that a dress with long sleeves for the summer here in the Bay Area would be too warm, but sometimes it gets breezy enough that you kind of want the sleeves. It’s also great because you don’t really need a sweater or cardigan to cover up either. We over wore this too much this past summer and it may have shrunk just a little bit, but we’re in the process of stretching it out again! Azalea is one of my favorite boutiques up in the city; I typically frequent the Hayes Valley location and am always finding things that I can’t go home without.

Here’s us wearing this dress again with my mom’s old booties and in the parking lot that the city tore down to put a building in. This place was the best.

How to Ring in 2017 or More Importantly… What You’ll Wear

Rachel Zoe satin-trimmed corded lace jumpsuit$495 $347

We always write this post a little bit late don’t we? Last year, I wrote it the day after Christmas and today I’m starting it at the end of Christmas Day. The reason why is usually because we don’t have time or we put off doing it, but my rationale is that New Years plans always happen last minute! Unless you’ve planned a trip around it or have some kind of occasion, most people have no idea what they’re doing for New Year’s Eve – myself included. Every. Single. Year. Last year, I ended up going out on Capitol Hill with my cousins and having a pretty entertaining night, but this year? We’re still not sure. I brought my trusty long-sleeved Aritiza dress back home with me though for this specific outing. You know… just in case! I’m sharing with you all some of my favorite looks to end the year, but it’s likely you may not be able to purchase these and get them delivered on time so look to these as inspiration instead!

What to Wear: Summer Weddings 2015

Self-Portrait Azalea Dress – $380

Well wedding season is already underway, but it’s never too late because if you’re like any girl I know then you’re always panicking last minute about what to wear. Or if you’re like me, you’ve planned out what you’re going to wear to a wedding months in advance, but feel you need another option at the last minute so you start the hunt again one weekend before the event. Whatever the case, it’s always good to have a variety in your closet for those emergencies.

I received my save the date from my favorite LA bf yesterday for her wedding next year and… that is exactly what is triggering this post! 🙂 Should I start looking for a dress 9 months in advance for this wedding? Y/N? I have been sent a link to the Bombshell HQ website by a friend who says that she’s going to be looking at dresses that they have available, so maybe I should be too?

Also, this is a good time to remind you all of a few things. Weddings are about the couple’s day. Do not wear white. Do not wear cream. Do not wear off white. If your dress is printed or patterned with a white base, don’t even wear that. There are so many dress options in this world and there’s no reason for you to be wearing anything resembling white on this day. A wedding is also not a time for you to take any fashion risks. Don’t wear anything that could pose as a wardrobe malfunction in any way shape or form.

Instead opt for soft prints and patterns and pastels. Gravitate towards romantic fabrics like ruffles, lace, and scalloped edges. Ladies – you know how to do this! Don’t be the one that messes it up because trust – wedding guests notice and they will talk about you.
