Via IMBOYCRAZY

By no means do I ever feel like I’m going to reach a point in my life where I feel like I know everything. Sure, I’ve had my fair share of experiences, but I love seeking advice from my girlfriends and vice versa, I love to dish out my own advice too (if they ask!) Sometimes these pieces of advice come in various funny forms but also weird forms too. One of my friends was having bedroom issues with their partner so I suggested that they watch some xxx hd porn videos together to give them some ideas to reignite that spark they once had. That was one of the weirder pieces of advice I have given but apparently it was helpful. On to the funnier story, I was having brunch with Neel (who was visiting from Boston for the weekend) and Spencer on Saturday when all of a sudden Neel hopped up from the table and said to me, “Katie, I have something for you! It’s from Yelly!” YELLY?! She is our mutual friend as well, but she hadn’t been at brunch with us so I was very confused as to what was happening. He came from his car with…

The Sisterhood Exists In Real Life

Hands down – this had to be one of the sweetest things I’ve read all week. Growing up, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants was one of my favorite series. I couldn’t always exactly relate to all of the situations that happened in the books or even felt like I resonated with one character, but there were a series of moments that I maybe identified with spread out between the four characters. After the series was turned into a movie and then a sequel, I was ecstatic. The actresses selected were such a good fit, but sometimes that’s all it is – just acting, right? It’s sometimes rare for people that are cast in a movie to stay friends afterwards, but not these 4.

It was revealed this week that Blake Lively made Amber Tamblyn, Alexis Bledel, and America Ferrera the godmothers of her newborn baby. Awwww!

Edit: 4/12 oh this is disappointing that it isn’t true after all… [E!]

Soppy Pt. 2

I can’t believe that it was back in 2013 that I wrote about Soppy for the first time. It feels like just yesterday that I was falling in love with these illustrations of a real-life couple turned cartoon as they venture into moving into together for the first time and fall in love. Well, a year and a half has gone by and the comic has spiraled into a book that was just published back in December. So cute – someone get this for my birthday pls. Comic artist Philippa Rice captures all of those precious little moments that couples in real life know to be so so true of themselves – choosing what to have for dinner that night, who owns what side of the bed, and brushing your teeth side by side. Swoon, right? Trust – you’re going to want to click for more.

Fifty Shades of Grey: Yeah, We Watched It

Oh yes, you better believe that we caught this movie on opening weekend. Having never read the books and being very curious about the advertisements I’ve been seeing for the film, I just had to see it. So here are my thoughts:

  • The movie didn’t flow as well as I would’ve liked. Everything felt really choppy, but I hear it’s not like this in the books.
  • They made Seattle look gooooooooooood.
  • This is not a movie that you want to take your kids to. I was appalled to see children sitting a couple rows in front of me.
  • Is it just me or did it feel like Jamie and Dakota had absolutely no chemistry together onscreen. I mean it didn’t seem very belivable to me?
  • It’s definitely not as racy as people made it out to me.
  • Why is this version offered in imax?
  • What is it like to see the NC-17 version of this film?
  • The best part of this movie? The soundtrack. Gimme that Ellie Goulding and The Weeknd anyday.

It’s not a masterpiece by any means, but I’m glad I saw it. We got something out of our systems by doing so.

This or That: The Blogger Pose

I didn’t know it at the time when I was taking this shot, but I was totally following in the footsteps of my blogging icon Joy Cho of Oh Joy!

It has been several years since I read her blog for the first time, but I am still such a huge fan of hers and her daughter Ruby of course! I also had the pleasure of meeting Joy last year at Anthropologie in Seattle when she was helping them launch their Petites collection. Joy really is such a great role model for women everywhere and I’m having a great time enjoying reading Blog Inc. Even though I’ve been doing this for some time, everything that I’ve learned, I’ve learned by doing and by intuition so it’s refreshing to really dig in and learn from an expert!

oh joy

A Collection Part 40

As the years go on, the “A Collection” posts get farther and farther apart from each other! When it comes to the end of summer, I always feel like it’s the most appropriate time to wrap things up. I started this post back in April, can you believe it? It’s about time we got this published!

Goodbye summer. Hello fall! We’re so excited to be in you!

Fifty Shades of Grey Trailer

[youtube=http://youtu.be/SfZWFDs0LxA]

Well what kind of blog would we be if we didn’t post this trailer as it was released today? I don’t really understand the hype around this movie or these books. Though I haven’t read the books myself, I had a number of people tell me that it wasn’t well written and that they didn’t enjoy reading it. That’s what my friends said about Twilight too, but there were still so many people watching that. I had to watch the trailer because I was intrigued. I figured if it was being released on The Today Show that this had to be a big deal. After watching the trailer, my views on it haven’t really changed. The film is being released on Valentine’s Day of next year – nearly 7 months from now! This was just a 2:25 minute trailer and everyone went nuts. There’s not much else to say about the weird sounds at the end… didn’t that just remind you of some kind of a horror movie?
