Introducing: The Wonut

When I was growing up, desserts used to be so simple. You had a choice of cake, pie, cookies, or ice cream. That was…pretty much it. These days, people are getting really fancy with their concoctions. Don’t get me wrong. I love the idea that you can put two things you love separate to make a dessert, but are things getting a little out of hand?

If you didn’t figure it out already, the wonut is a waffle donut. Just looking at it makes my stomach hurt because I know that it is full of all sorts of unhealthy-ness. It looks like the wonut has already hit it big in Chicago, but if you’re looking for a detailed step-by-step on how the wonut is made – Thrillist is laying it all out for you here.

Take Me There:

It’s somewhat of a huge change for me to not be living in a city right now. I’ve always thought of myself as a “city girl,” but not a permanent one. I’ve kept an open mind and now when I travel to the city (San Francisco) I appreciate it more and see it as a weekend treat. I’m not sure if I always took advantage of that when I was living in Seattle. This photo above is neither San Francisco nor Seattle! It’s actually Chicago, which is fitting since I reached out to my friend over there today and was thinking of her. I’ve never been to the city, but I just know that I would love it.

Here is to future trips!

Lollapalooza 2012

Click the poster for the source.

I’m not exactly sure how this lineup got to be Chinese New Year themed. It is kind of lols, but as always the lineup is great so there’s no need to dive into that.
