In silly rules and laws…

– The French Parliament has just approved a law in which calling your spouse a foul name will earn you up to three years in jail and a $93,000 fine. They are calling this type of verbal abuse a psychological offense or criminal offense if you will. [source]

Anthony Williams, a senator from Philadelphia, has decided to blame the plain white tee for gang violence and street gangs. He believes the elimination of huge white t-shirts will “decrease the power of street gangs” who prefer to hang out on street corners.

“During these tough economic times, we have to set our priorities and be a role model for the country. These children are looking for us to stand up for them, and we have to turn this ‘white-T culture’ in a different direction.”

Hey, sir, the white tee is a common staple for everyone. It’s efficient, fashionable [even in tall tee form] classic, and inexpensive. Next you’re going to tell us that we can’t wear blue denim.

In Addition To…

“I don’t do nudes, I don’t do semi-nudes, I don’t do cigarette shots,” Coco Rocha was saying on Sunday evening before the Diane Von Frustenberg show at the Bryant Park tents. “It took me a long time in the business to realize I didn’t have to do everything people told me I should if I wanted a career.”

Coco bites back

At just 21 years old, Coco Rocha, is the model with a name familiar to nearly everyone in the fashion industry. She describes herself as, “6 inches taller and 10 sizes smaller than the average American woman…” but just this week she took notice of some not-very-nice comments splashed across the pages of The New York Daily News and The New York Times with the headline, “Coco Rocha is too fat for the runway.”

With headlines like these, what is the general public supposed to think? Being skinny isn’t enough because that’s what Coco Rocha already is. She’s skinny. Now we have to throw up and starve ourselves to  be a less fatter version of Coco Rocha? The media and those who create these headlines are giving us impossible standards to live up to. Once we reach them, we put our lives and health on the line.

“How can any person justify an aesthetic that reduces a woman or child to an emaciated skeleton? Is it art? Surely fashion’s aesthetic should enhance and beautify the human form, not destroy it.”

Coco addressed these headlines on her most recent post from her blog, “Oh So Coco.” Please read it as she is absolutely correct! Thanks Coco for standing up because otherwise we would all still strive to be what doesn’t exist. Remember this controversial ad that Ralph Lauren released late last year?

Yeah, I don’t like it either.

You really are never too old to be doing things like this hahah

Model Coco Rocha and her father filmed themselves dancing to a song from the Jungle Book. This is the cutest thing ever, I can’t imagine if my father and I were to do something like this to Mulan.
