Daniel Radcliffe gives romantic comedies a try! I don’t know how I feel about the plot actually, but I’m a fan of Zoe Kazan and am interested to see her in it.

Let’s Talk About Last Night’s SNL

I can’t say that I was overly excited to see Daniel Radcliffe hosting Saturday Night Live last night, but I knew that I was going to end up watching it anyway. He’s no Emma Stone or Jimmy Fallon, but I’m going to have to agree with the criticism that most of the reviews have been saying about his performance: He did the best he could with what he was working with. Aside from the Harry Potter skit, which we all knew was going to happen, there wasn’t a lineup of skits that held my attention for my long. I was, however, impressed by his American accent! Other than that, the skits were pretty lackluster.

Now, let’s talk about the performance heard from around the world – LANA DEL REY!

Since the summer premiere of “Video Games,” Lana Del Rey has been named the indie sexpot of 2012. What that means, I’m not exactly sure. Lana is a gorgeous young woman with distinguished pouty lips that women could only dream of and a drawling voice that is both intoxicating and at times confusing. Her music video became a hit on YouTube and since then the new singer has been catching a lot of buzz – landing the cover of Billboard Magazine, snagging a modeling contract, and playing Saturday Night Live all before her debut album has even been released. She is the second artist to ever debut on Saturday Night Live in the performance slot without having an album out first. The first was Natalie Imbruglia.

So there was a lot of pressure riding on Lana last night and the question leading up to her debut was, “Is she ready?” Last night’s performances had me tilting my head and shrugging my shoulders, “Maybe?” Lana Del Rey was visibly nervous as she took the stage to perform her first single, “Video Games,” exhibiting all nervous habits – touching her hair, awkward hand placements, a shaky voice. I felt bad for the poor girl! It was tougher to watch than the time Ashlee Simpson just walked off stage because of her lip-synching. I’ll admit though that she did regain a little bit of confidence for her second song, but at the closing of the show if Seth Meyers hadn’t come up to her and said, “It wasn’t bad!” I probably would have given her the benefit of the doubt.

Word on the street is that this kiss, which will end up leading to some relationship on the show with Claire and her college roommate was actually Hayden’s idea. If you’re still watching this show (I stopped) you can catch the random make out sesh on next Monday’s episode on NBC.

– After Harry Potter is over, Daniel Radcliffe will be returning to the stage with the 1961 musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying


– Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis will play rival ballerinas in the new thriller out in 2010 called Black Swan. “They reportedly will participate in a racy girl-on-girl love scene” Is this the theme of the year?!

– Miley Cyrus has shut down her super popular Twitter because apparently her new boy and co-star Liam Hemsworth doesn’t think she should have one…because he doesn’t.

– Jennifer Lopez is going under another alias. Lola. hmm Beyonce – Sasha Fierce, Mariah Carey – Mimi… why?

– Ellen Page is writing a new comedy for HBO titled “Stitch N’ Bitch.” She will star alongside w/ actress Alia Shawkat. “…a show about two hipster girls who move from Williamsburg, Brooklyn to Silver Lake, Los Angeles in a passionate quest to be artistes.”I need my HBO back.

– Nintendo’s Wii would like to make the television show Project Runway into a video game.

– Levi Johnston – the baby daddy of Sarah Palin’s 17-year-old daughter Bristol Palin is taking it ALL off for Playgirl.

– Robbie Williams may have tried to commit suicide last night? The singer “guzzled “heart-stopping” quantities of prescription drugs – and not cared if they killed him.”

– Lady Gaga being FABULOUS in a new photo shoot.

– Daniel Radcliffe had his first injury while filming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows today.

“I was shooting a scene where Harry is fighting a huge snake,” he said. “As you know, the Harry Potter films are big productions, so instead of an actual snake in front of me, our stunt coordinator held a long stick with a boxing glove at the end.”

Poor guy now has a black eye.

– DJ AM has left a $1 million estate behind and no will. His funeral was scheduled for this afternoon.

– Every so often a show will come along and at that point I will add it to my schedule of must-sees. This might be one of them! And also I love Shiri Appleby and have loved her ever since the show Roswell.

– The Duggars are expecting another child. (Not again… but are we even surprised? Absolutely not.)

– John Krasinski and Emily Blunt are engaged! But want a short engagement.

It’s a BIG news day.

– Kelis is in labor right now delivering her first child with rapper Nas. However, despite a messy divorce, Nas is still rushing to be by her side today.

– Demi Lovato’s second album, “Here We Go Again,” was released today. (It is fantastic!)

– Actor Jamie Waylett who plays Vincent Crabbe in the Harry Potter movie series was sentenced to 120 hours of community service after he pleaded guilty to charges of growing marijuana.

Ugly Betty Diet Coke bottles! – designed by Patricia Field. They even come with stickers so you can customize your very own bottle. For now they’re only in the UK but it’s only a matter of time until they make their way over to the states or New York where Ugly Betty is set in.

– Daniel Radcliffe is dating his Equus co-star Laura O’Toole

– Carrie Prejean former Miss California who caused a scandal with her gay marriage comments is now writing a book! It will be called Still Standing and is set to be out this November. It will focus on her boob job paid for by the Miss California Organization, her topless photos, her beliefs in gay rights and losing her crown. What a fascinating life she lives.

– It was revelaed today that designer Christian Siriano will be collaborating with Starbucks for a holiday inspired something! However, no details will be given until November 17th.

– Kevin Federline is getting a reality show… guhh let’s not forget his first single was PopoZão

– Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen as well as Alexander Wang became the newsest members of the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) today. It is the only governing body for the style industry in the United States. The girls won their acceptances from their two clothing lines, The Row and Elizabeth & James.
