Swimsuit to stay away from

Diesel hired Kristin Cavallari this past week to model in Miami’s Swim Week wearing a swimsuit covered in shards of glass. Okay – so it doesn’t look that bad, but can’t they substitute the glass for um…anything else?

Does the glass and the color remind you of anything? The entire show was sponsored by Skyy Vodka, which is known for it’s packaging of a cobalt blue bottle.

In the News…

The best stuff happens in December, I swear.

– Have you always dreamed of becoming a stylist to the stars? Here’s your chance! MTV Skins and Lookbook.nu – one of my favorite street style websites is collaborating on a new contest in which the two winners will have a chance to style the entire cast of Skins alongside the Series Costume Director Edward K. Gibbon. Keep in mind that you will not have access to designer clothes because the actors of Skins portray real teenagers, which means these are brand new actors working with scripts even written by young adults. Winners will also get a $1,000 shopping spree to Diesel. Learn more details here.

Bring It On: The Musical has announced their cast here. They better not ruin my favorite movie.

Diesel vs. Brooklyn Law School

Diesel is known for their racy ads – that should be obvious by now. When I heard word that they were involved in a little scandal themselves, I wasn’t all that surprised. Officials from the Brooklyn Law School recently allowed Diesel to shoot their new advertising campaign on their campus within their school’s library for what they believed would be a “tasteful photo shoot.” Boy, were they wrong. Diesel ads are far from tasteful to begin with. For this very special education shoot, the brand hired 17-year-old photographer Nirrimi Hakason to shoot the batch of scandalous photos and when they surfaced – the Brooklyn Law School was none too happy.

The above photo was the least scandalous of them all. The rest of the shots feature models in only their skivvies gettin’ down in the middle of bookshelves and underneath library tables. Basically, they are living out every college student’s fantasy and they aren’t holding back one bit.

Sure, students and faculty at the law school may be offended, but these photographs are FANTASTIC. Can we just get back to the fact that a 17-year-old girl shot this? Whether or not Diesel saw this scandal coming their way, they are definitely receiving a lot of attention. Any publicity at all is good publicity right?

Community Announcements

Diesel Fragrance is inspiring others to become more alive with their new cartoon drawings by Jeremy Ville. Sometimes it takes a quote, a song, an action. This time it will take a poster. Let this be a sign for you to release your inhibitions.
