2011 Golden Globe Awards

Olivia Wilde in Marchesa

Chocolate brown and gold sequins are the perfect combination for this Golden Globe gown. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen Olivia look this good! I also loved that she wore her hair down with her bangs since we are typically used to seeing it done up.

Pay to intern is the new unpaid intern

Internships, like jobs, do not come easy. Designer Donna Karan is auctioning off a week-long internship with her PR department for $3000. While the proceeds are going towards Stephen Gaynor School, a school for those with learning difficulties, something about the idea of that does not sit well with me. Since when did how much money you have become a hiring qualification? Donna Karan, I have to say I’m a little disappointed with your methods. Hiring for an internship is no contest especially not one involving money. It should be merit-based. Maybe I’m just bitter because I have spent my spring break applying to internships and slaving away perfecting my resumes, cover letters, and writing samples.

Well Donna Karan, I’m trying hard not to judge you, but I hope your intern winner is a disaster in your department because you’re giving your week-long internship only to someone who can afford it, but does not deserve it.

Oscars Arrivals + Parties

What you’ve all been waiting for!

Anna Kendrick in Elie Saab Couture – 4.5

Big things are about to happen for Anna in terms of her acting career and her appearance on the red carpet. It’s too bad that Up in the Air did not win any Oscars last night because that is one of my favorite movies from last year and she was great in it. This gown is beautiful. I’m glad she didn’t go overboard with it. Only thing I would change would be the shoes.

The September Issue Premiere

I am so excited to see this movie! Finally, someone is capturing the time and process, not to mention, the work alone, it takes to put out Vogue’s largest and most anticipated issue every year. The September Issue. “dun dun dun”

All the designers and models came out to play!

Designer Vera Wang in her own design- 4

I love that designers always remain consistent in what they wear to events, but I guess you’d have to be if you’re around your own collection 24/7. Makes sense.

Model Hillary Rhoda in Rachel Roy

Dress gets a 3, shoes get a 1. poor choice.
