Which do we prefer… Tory or Drake?!
Interestingly enough, we don’t have a lot of thoughts to share about this A Collection Part post. The last 3 months have been a blur, but a good one. I think we’ll have some thoughts that we can share tomorrow that we’re building up, but for now let’s just enjoy these.
It was a tough decision, but between Beyonce and Rihanna, I had to pick one and “Work” was a much better dance jam than “Formation.” Wouldn’t you agree? Also, I just love that Rihanna and Drake keep doing songs together! Moar, please. Sandy and I listened to this three times in a row at our desks the other day.
I can’t say that I loved this song when it first came out, but now that we’re nearing the end of the year, I’m realizing more and more just how good it actually is. We will definitely be seeing it on our Top 50 songs of 2015 list.
Leaked track so we can only listen to this before this gets taken down!
It was announced this morning that Simone Battle who was 25 died of an apparent suicide. She was a very young and talented singer who was part of the GRL group and had competed and rose to fame on the singing reality show X Factor. Our prayers are with Simone’s friends and family. I had actually never watched X Factor around that time, but found this video of her covering Drake’s “Take Care” which was done amazingly.
On Fridays, my team likes to do a little something that we call “a throwback to old school R&B” which involves playing a bunch of old school R&B hits from our childhood. We’ve done this for two weeks now, but I could see it becoming something that we do on the reg. Thanks to my brother, I was a pro at knowing all of the classics by the time I was age 5. I was pretty unusual I guess. My coworker Tenzing introduced me to a game on the internet the other day (or what we like to call a time waster) in which you pick which artist you know best – Drake or Kanye – and you are able to choose the title of the song based on the snippet that you hear. I passed level 1 and it started going downhill from there, but I urge you to try it out yourself. It’s a great way to pass the time and learn some great songs that you may or may not have spent much time with. Enjoy The Rap Test y’all!
I was having a Drake moment these past couple of days.
Is that a Lauryn Hill sample I hear? Love it.
I missed SNL this weekend with Drake hosting, but was planning on catching up with it later. Here’s just a clip though to either a) hold you over or b) give you a taste of what Drake hosting was like. We think it’s pretty great.
