Out on the Town: 3/4 and 3/5

One of my favorite Seattle bands – Pickwick – is throwing down two free shows this week! To prepare them for their new album release Pickwick will be performing at Easy Street Records in West Seattle on March 4th at 7PM and at Sonic Boom Records on March 5th at 6PM. These two events are sure to be packed so arrive early otherwise you might miss out. Their first full-length album, Can’t Talk Medicine, will be released on March 12th. As if they didn’t have enough exciting news coming their way with these shows and their album, Pickwick has also landed the coveted spot of performing on the Mariners’ Opening Day April 8th. In previous years, Death Cab For Cutie and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis have had that same privilege.

Out on the Town: 1/18

Easy Street Records on Queen Anne will close this Friday, but before they shut their doors for the last time, there will be one more performance. This Friday, alternative rock group Yo La Tengo will put on the very last performance at the Queen Anne location for free and for all ages. Show starts at 7pm.

The West Seattle Easy Street Records location is still open.

Out on the Town: 8/27 and 8/28

It’s Minus the Bear week y’all!

The band will be performing songs off of their new album Infinity Overhead at Comet Tavern tonight in Capitol Hill. Doors 9pm, 21+ and tickets are $10 with proceeds being matched by Freedom to Marry. This is typically a smaller venue for the band and since no tickets will be sold earlier in the day, just arrive early.

Tomorrow, Minus the Bear  will perform a set at Easy Street Records at 7pm – all ages – and free to celebrate the release of their album.

Somebody please go to this and let me know how it is. I would love to hear all about how she performs live and if she is as awkward as she once was on SNL.
