Our favorite Hogwarts wizard Emma Watson graduated from Brown today! We quite enjoy her little selfie. Emma is walking away from the Ivy League school with a degree in English Literature.
J.K. Rowling is teaming up with Warner Bros. to create a film series based on “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” Though I haven’t read The Casual Vacancy or The Cuckoo’s Calling, I’m ecstatic for her return to the wonderful world of Harry Potter.
Children, and a good majority of our peers, can start looking forward to a world of wizardry to reemerge. Posting for fans on her Facebook, J.K. noted:
Although it will be set in the worldwide community of witches and wizards where I was so happy for seventeen years, ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the ‘Harry Potter’ series, but an extension of the wizarding world.
The “Boy Meets World” reboot “Girl Meets World” has some follow-up details! [Source] Hey Veronica, I know you’ve been wanting to learn more about this.
Emma Watson met her long-time friend as a child on Halloween and this is what the caption read:
“Emma Watson to 5 year old boy: ‘Excuse me, are you Harry Potter? That’s great, because I’m Hermonie Granger and we’re best of friends.'”
If you know me you know I’m not someone who pretends to have a lot of advice or wisdom to dispense, but in my travels I’ve cultivated one nugget of pseudo-wisdom: one surefire way to help yourself “make it” in the “real world” is something I like to call embracing your inner nerd. And no, I don’t mean buying yourself a pair of coke bottle glasses or quoting obscure books at your friends (trust me, it’s not charming). I’m talking about immersing yourself in something(s) you love that most people don’t spend a lot of time thinking about, making yourself knowledgeable, and letting your enjoyment of those things impact your life.
Nerds care about what matters and value people for who they are. It’s a major misconception that you have to be intelligent to be a nerd. Not so. I would probably fail an 8th grade science test, yet I’m as sincere a nerd as they come. Because that’s what counts with nerds—sincerity. It doesn’t matter if we’re interested in the same things; if I can see you’re genuine in what you care about and it’s close to your heart, I respect that. I have a friend who’s obsessed with all things Disney, another who unabashedly loves Sailor Moon, and even a friend who loses her mind over shows like Pretty Little Liars (hint: she runs this blog), and even though those things aren’t my particular cup of tea, those people are important to me because I value people who really, truly care about things. If any of these people, hearing me mock something they love (and despite my nerd-solidarity I tend to do this), said “No, you’re right, it’s dumb,” I would instantly lose some respect for them. I find that generally, people who can’t be sincere about something as simple as their interests will rarely be sincere in their relationships.
Today, Universal Studios/Parks and Warner Bros announced that Hollywood would be getting their very own “Wizarding World of Harry Potter.” The park will be located within Universal Studios Hollywood and in addition to this news, the Orlando park will be expanding.
Oh my gosh – so excited that I don’t have to travel all the way to Florida to see this in real life now. I suppose I can wait a couple years for it to be built or however long it will take.
I was more excited to learn about this Band of Outsiders F/W campaign than learning who was actually in it, but there’s no denying how good these two Harry Potter co-stars look. I think I could pretty much fall for any guy who lives in Band of Outsiders. The clothes – the style, they both make my heart melt. If I had a disposable income, I am almost sure that I would be purchasing some of their shirts for myself just because they look so put together and comfortable. Here are some of my favorite snapshots of Rupert Grint and Tom Felton for Band of Outsiders.

I might be one of the few people that is not at the premiere currently and while that may shock you, I would like to assure you that I am completely OK with that. It makes no difference to me seeing the film at midnight or next week at 9AM or whenever. It’s all the same to me!
In honor of Harry Potter Day though, I’d like to share with you a cute little post that substitutes the faces of musicians as Harry Potter characters. It’s not as weird as it sounds, I promise. In fact, some of the musicians resemble the actors so accurately that even I was convinced that they were the same person. That is not true for the picture below though.
