My Favorite Meme

Screen Shot 2016-08-17 at 9.41.58 PM

I know I’m like a month + behind on this, but these Arthur memes have been cracking me up lately. I think my coworker had a whole discussion in a Slack channel recently about our favorite ones. Here are some that were posted on Huffington Post. I remember when I discovered this, I didn’t want the scrolling to end. I just wanted more! There’s also something really entertaining about reviving your favorite things from childhood into something more modern, which is exactly this.

A Lesson on Coke

I’m not sure what happened, but tonight I found this absolutely fascinating! Growing up, my family and I always had either Sprite or Coke around depending on what my brother and I were into at the time. I wouldn’t normally have it with every meal, but I did enjoy it every once in awhile. When I got to college, I had more options for drinks and never got a coke. I now have coke as an option for a drink every day at work and don’t touch it. Well, maybe I do once a month as a treat. It’s crazy how much one can of coke can have such a huge impact. I was never that good at science back in school, but still found this super interesting to read.

Thank you Huffington Post for the very educational lesson.

Happy Birthday!

Happy birthday Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen! My favorite twins turn 28 today and everyone seems to be celebrating their birthday all over the internet. Growing up, I always hoped I would be as cute as Michelle Tanner. I wanted to be the Asian Michelle Tanner, if you will. I felt like I was growing up with the twins. When they left Full House they become detectives that were solving crime before dinner time. I, too, wanted to be a detective. Then they graduated into another sitcom called Two of a Kind and then So Little Time. That one was kind of a bust so we don’t need to talk about that. Their careers and how they got there is kind of incredible. They were hits on the television and then became iconic in the fashion industry. Happy birthday ladies!

Here is a round-up of some of my favorite MK & A posts from today:

“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”

Photo Cred I Harry Potter Wiki

J.K. Rowling is teaming up with Warner Bros. to create a film series based on “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” Though I haven’t read The Casual Vacancy or The Cuckoo’s Calling, I’m ecstatic for her return to the wonderful world of Harry Potter.

Children, and a good majority of our peers, can start looking forward to a world of wizardry to reemerge. Posting for fans on her Facebook, J.K. noted:

Although it will be set in the worldwide community of witches and wizards where I was so happy for seventeen years, ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the ‘Harry Potter’ series, but an extension of the wizarding world.

It’s About A Girl

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HXFwnfuSMo&feature=youtu.be]

Filmmaker and MTV reality television series “World of Jenks” star released a trailer today for his new project with online personality Taryn Southern. Is this a fictional webseries? A reality series? We’ve never known Andrew Jenks to put out anything that was scripted, but there’s a first time for everything. Girls everywhere are very jealous that Taryn is macking on Jenks, I’m sure.

UPDATE: A closer look at the series and Andrew’s interview with Huffington Post

Nordstrom Brings Pinterest Into Their Stores

Nordstrom is merging social media with retail in a HUGE way. Items that have received the most re-pins on Pinterest will now be flagged in Nordstrom stores with a small tag and the signature red “P” logo for Pinterest so that customers perusing can see which  items are the most desired on the social media website.

Colin Johnson, Nordstrom corporate affairs representative, told the Huffington Post: “It’s our fastest growing social channel, so we wanted to integrate the feedback that we’re getting from our Pinterest community.”

The system is currently being trialled in 13 stores.

Readers, have you seen the tag in stores yet? I might be at the downtown location tomorrow and if I spot it, I’ll make sure to Instagram it!

Happy Wedding Wednesday!

photo via

Readers, no one adores weddings as much as I do. I’m a hopeless romantic who simply loves love and that’s something about me that just won’t ever change. My dear co-worker is getting married next weekend and I may have the opportunity to assist another co-worker in her freelance wedding planning business this coming season so of course, I’ve had weddings on my mind lately. Huffington Post compiled a batch of photographs today for a post entitled “Amazing Wedding Photos That Will Make You Believe In Love” and they are heart-warming. And as if these weren’t enough photos for you already, right below the post is a slideshow of First Looks.

SWOON.
