Harry and Meghan Resign From Royal Duties – What Does That Mean?

We don’t follow this drama as closely as other people, but my guess is that Harry and Meghan are going to be just fine. Now expecting their 2nd child, the couple are announcing that they are leaving behind their days of royalty. So what exactly does that mean? Haven’t they already left? The previous announcement was merely stepping back from duties to care for their first son.

It seems that this announcement, however, means that any official work going forward is done. In a statement made by by the Palace’s official website, Queen Elizabeth II shared that their titles and appointments will be redistributed to other members of the family. While the formality of all this seems to be tying up, at the end of the day, they are still family.

Sharing more of their story, the Harry and Meghan will sit down with Oprah on March 7th for a primetime interview which will likely detail the drama of the last year.

A COS Spring

The start of Fashion Week always has us pining for future seasons. In what feels like a very weird time for climate, I’m just about ready for spring all over again. Lighter shades and weightless linens sound like the perfect getaway from what feels like some serious chilly-ness these days. COS’ spring is giving us all of the essential basics we’ll need. Their Spring/Summer collection should be online soon. Here are my favorites:

A Matcha Maker At Home

In pandemic times, we’ve all had to make adjustments both big and small within our lives. Those of us who are used to buying a daily coffee (myself included) no longer find it safe to uphold those same habits. As a result, people are given two options really – learn to live without it or do it yourself at home. We’re not quite at the stage of making it ourselves yet, but in six months, maybe we will be!

[Cuzen Matcha] is giving people the chance to get their regular matcha fix at home with a new machine and it’s just as easy as one that makes coffee. In a traditional tea shop, making matcha involves grinding and adding in water by hand which all feels manual. However, this device automates a portion of this process making this even simpler and convenient for home.

Boasting a minimalist appearance, the innovative kitchen device features a compact ceramic mill that grinds tea leaves and dispenses them into a carafe, while a magnetic stirrer mixes water with the matcha powder to create the perfect cup of beverage.

If you’re a regular matcha consumer who could benefit from having a device like this, you can purchase one [here] for $369 USD. The machine also comes with three packets of tea leaves as well as a whisking cup to get you started.

McDonald’s Japan Has Healthier Happy Meals

https://youtu.be/MDaJhkqUwK0

Growing up, there was no such thing as a healthier Happy Meal from McDonald’s. In fact, healthier eating for young children wasn’t as prioritized back then as it is now so it’s kind of refreshing to see such a change. In order to promote healthier eating with kids, McDonald’s in Japan is introducing new side offerings including yogurt, a side salad and a medley of corn and edamame. Yum! We’d take this option as an adult if we had the choice. The main dishes themselves will not change, but if you’re a kid not wanting fries, at least you have options.

Nike’s Zig Zag Stitches

It’s usually the colorways that grab our attention first. This time around, it’s the unique zig zag stitching that I’m seeing for the first time ever. In a bold style, the Nike Blazer Mid is taking on a minimal, but red zig zag design in their logo. I love how clean this look is, but in its own way has some spunk to it. The shoe is currently retailing for $100 USD and will be available [online] in the next few weeks.

Bottega Veneta’s Latest Shoulder Bags

When it comes to fashion-y purchases right now, bags aren’t at the top of my list. Honestly, the usually never are. When I do buy a new purse, it’s usually because my current (and only one) is so worn down it’s almost unusable. From there, that purchase will usually only be from Nordstrom Rack or Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale. I have data on this.

These days, on the rare occasion that I leave my house, I’m not going very far nor am I leaving for a long duration of time. A bag, often times, isn’t even necessary and I just end up out with my wallet. When I do purchase a new bag, it always sort of looks the same though: black, across the shoulder and a little boxy. I love how casual this latest bag is from Bottega Veneta and while we’ve never had one in this rounded shape, it looks kind of fun, doesn’t it?

The new bulb shoulder bags come in a range of colors, but naturally, we’re partial to the black. To make sure everything stays secure, the bag can be closed up by drawstring. The bags are currently priced between $1,100 – 2,300 USD.

The Cutest Workout Weights

If you think that these are ordinary plushies, think again! They are actually the cutest workout weights you’ve ever seen. Honestly, you would think by now I would’ve acquired weights at home, but I’m still using jars and cans of soup. These, however, might push me to get real ones and maybe these ones to be exact. Inspired by Rilakkuma and friends, Japanese sports company, Mizuno, has designed the most adorable weights at one pound each.

When you’re not using them, they can simply be used as home decor. To get a set of your own, you can buy them [here] retailing at $38 USD.

Hype Simulator

This desire to know what it’s like to be viral is so sensationalized that an app was designed to create that experience for users. Using [Hype Simulator] people will have the opportunity to see what it’s like to have 15 minutes of online fame. After downloading the app, you can choose between viral or celebrity. The app itself helps you generate a TikTok username that you decide on and within seconds, you will be bombarded with likes and follower notifications. Why this is something that people are wanting to create for themselves, I’m not so sure. However, something seems to be working because a few works ago, this was a top-rated app. In addition to follows and likes, you’ll also receive DMs similar to what people would write on the TikTok app. The entire thing is baffling to me still.
