Wedding Mondays

She’s a contributing editor for Vogue and he’s a Dutch shoe designer so there’s no way that this wedding wasn’t going to be the most extravagant thing you’ve ever seen. Actually just looking at their wedding photos kind of looks like they are on the set of a shoot. The best shoot ever. The gorgeous wedding took place in Italy and invitees included style icons like Oliva Palermo and Christie Brinkley. Her bridesmaids’ dresses – can we just own this for every day use?

Take Me There:

By now most of you may have caught on that I select “Take Me There:” photographs straight from my Pinterest board “Outside Seattle.” However, I still haven’t narrowed down how exactly these are the places I want to go at this very moment. I’ve been going in order and it’s easy that way. These are all places that I want to go to and someday hope to travel to, but I also wonder if it is sometimes the photographs that entice me the most. This one for example is a pretty picture. The minamalistic look, the straight lines, the warmth that these people are experiencing that I am not – these are all contributing factors. “Take Me There:” this series is not a science, you guys.

BTW this is in Jesolo Italy and it’s from the Beach House luxury apartments. When can we move in?

Take Me There:

The start of February here in the Bay Area has already brought us nearly a week of rain. From what I hear, the entire month of February is like this. I don’t mind, really, because it’s a nice reminder of Seattle and it allows me to conveniently wash my car, but it is significantly colder. It’s kind of nice to make up an excuse to stay inside and just work from the couch. I sound like I live in Seattle again. Though I love the rain and sometimes the cold – only sometimes – I can only take it for so long until I want to be somewhere warm again.

Here’s a snapshot of Sirmione, Lago di Garda, Italy.

Yes. Please.

Take Me There:

Ruh Roh! We’re running a little bit behind on Yow Yow! posts lately so I’m spending my Saturday night playing catch up. I’ve been doing a bit of traveling lately between here and Seattle and booked myself a spring weekend trip, but other than that I don’t have too many vacations planned for myself. I don’t mind it though because traveling can really take a lot out of you. I recently flew back to Seattle for the holidays while in the midst of a nasty cold and let me just say that it was the most miserable flight I’ve ever had. I didn’t get to meet any new people like I usually do (mostly because I didn’t want to interact with anyone while looking so haggard) and I also suffered from that horrible ear popping/not popping thing when your flight is about to land. You know the reasons why most babies and toddlers cry around the descent? I felt their pain. I thought I was going to lose it.

Anyways, so I’m not trying to travel far distances right now especially when I’m not at my best, but here is a pretty picture of a maze gardens at Ruspoli Castle in Northern Lazio, Italy. I remembered that I had seen it in editorial shoots before so when I came across it on Pinterest again, I bookmarked it. Who knows if I’ll ever make it there!

Take Me There:

We’re back on our exotic kick again for the Take Me There: series! Some of the best vacations I’ve ever had are the ones in which I’ve wandered. Literally, I would be on a family vacation and completely “peace out” sans family so that I could discover the hidden nooks of wherever I was at. Yes, it can be a little bit dangerous for someone like myself to go off on their own, but what can I say? I like the adventure and the thrill of it. We turned out OKAY y’all! Last week, I posted a skyline photograph of Chicago, but we’re over the cold and now I want to go to this  secluded beach in Furor Amalfi, Italy!

*swoon*

Take Me There:

It’s funny that I should choose this spot for a “Take Me There” post because I’m terrified of heights, but it’s gorgeous, right? Lately, it’s been starting to feel a lot colder here in Mountain View and while I know it is not as cold as Seattle, it still feels like it is. I’m taking advantage of all the sunny days that we have left and hopefully it’s more than just a handful.

Today’s photograph is of Gaiola Bridge in Naples, Italy.

Take Me There:

(Amalfi Coast, Italy)

These steps would terrify me, but where else could you go in the world to find something like this?! Even though I’m still on the West Coast, I’ve been longing to be right on a beach lately (even if it’s cold) just to be a little closer to the ocean.

A weekend trip might be in order soon!
