Jason Biggs Calls Out Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf

A Los Angeles Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf shop was caught having these two tip jars on display by the American Pie franchise star. Apparently, the jars were out so that visitors of the location could vote for their favorite Paul Walker film. Hello! The guy just passed away three days ago. It’s shocking to believe that employees at that location would find this appropriate or that a manager would approve it. Thanks to Jason’s tweet, a spokesperson was able to remedy the issue, but I don’t think anyone is going to forget about this incident happening.

A spokesperson for that specific store also assured NBC News that the jars have been taken off the counter, adding that they cannot release the location in question “as the matter is still under investigation.”

“This is completely inconsistent with our brand values and the jars have since been removed. Our thoughts and condolences remain with the many friends and family of Paul Walker during this difficult time. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® would like to thank Jason Biggs for bringing this matter to our attention,” the company said in a statement to NBC4.

Goodbye Grassroots!

The Grassroots production finally wrapped up today after filming all over Capitol Hill and Seattle this summer. I never even got a chance to see them filming in action nor was I able to “accidentally” run into Jason Biggs. Hmm next time! Two of my friends had the chance to intern with the production as well and are also in this picture. Can’t wait to hear all the stories!

Beyond the Block

So I’m sorry I keep rubbing it in all of your faces how awesome the Capitol Hill Block Party is going to be tomorrow. I’m sure a lot of you:

a) ARE GOING tomorrow, Saturday, Sunday or all weekend.

b) cannot come because you didn’t get tickets. [well you still can if you hurry, but you’re out of luck for Friday]

c) cannot come because you are nowhere near Seattle.

Don’t worry. I will dance to MGMT, Yeasayer, and Holy Fuck for all of you. I will grab all of the free goods that the vendors hand out to me. I will try and spot out celebrities. I know that the guys of MTV’s The Buried Life will be in attendance and I’m secretly hoping that I’ll be watching a band with Jason Biggs standing right next to me. [because they’re filming Grassroots here through August!]

I’ll take pictures of the hipster street style that is the epitome of the Capitol Hill neighborhood. I’ll have to use it for visual evidence to show my relatives what the definition of a hipster is for a future date.

If you are in Seattle, and you are unable to participate in tomorrow’s festivities due to lack of ticket or don’t want to attend [can’t understand why you wouldn’t!] there will be other things going on Capitol Hill during this time. The owner of Po Dog is throwing down a free mini music festival tomorrow as well. Something to check out yeah? Capitol Hill Seattle has also compiled a list together of all the other things you can do still in Capitol Hill, but outside of the gates HERE

You won’t be getting LIVE updates from me, but it’s cool. You’ll get them when you get them.

Let the block party begin…

Grassroots

Stage and screen veteran Jason Biggs (AMERICAN PIE, MY BEST FRIEND’S GIRL) has signed to star as Campbell, a recently fired journalist who reluctantly agrees to spearhead the Seattle City Council campaign of his eccentric friend Grant Cogswell. Rapidly rising star Joel David Moore (AVATAR, MEDIUM, BONES, HOUSE) co-stars as Cogswell, a former pedicab driver with a burning passion for the Monorail.

So what does this information mean to us? The film is directed by Stephen Gyllenhaal [yes, father of Maggie and Jake] and not only does the setting take place in Seattle, it will also be filmed in Seattle too! BIG SHOCKER. Because usually when movies take place in Seattle, they are filmed in Vancouver.

Grassroots begins shooting on Monday – awesome. Let the stalking begin.
