2018 Emmys Red Carpet
Kristen Bell in Solace London
I’m not crazy right? The Emmys are usually on Sundays? Having it on a Monday completely threw me off my game and now it is 9:30 PM and I’m putting this post together. Honestly though, we all know I have OCD issues and there’s no way I could even get to bed without doing this first. And then of course picking my 5-8 favorite looks and adding them to my Instagram story. You’re welcome. Happy Monday!
I’m loving all of the classic black and white looks from the evening. There are also the tiniest details from two different shoes and belts that are so thin that you almost miss them. One take away from the night? Barely there makeup and slicked back hair for an effortless look. What are your favorite looks?

2017 Oscars After Parties
Elizabeth Banks in Elie Saab (this is so unbelievably stunning)
Nobody loves a red carpet more than I do. (Well maybe Ryan and Giuliana) but I don’t mess around on award show days and Sunday afternoons with the red carpet have a special reservation in my day planner. However, while everyone is anticipating THE red carpet, I’m also getting ready for my second wave – the red carpet of the after parties. This is where some of the most daring looks of the night come out. We’ve been doing this post after the award shows red carpet for years so if you’ve been with us awhile, this is nothing new to you. However, if you are new – welcome.
Oscars 2017 Red Carpet
Viola Davis in Armani Prive
WOW what an award show. We’re likely going to have a chat about all of the things that went on this evening, but for now – let’s just get to all of the red carpet details. There was a lot of fringe, a lot of neutral color tones and “Hollywood glam.” I’ll admit, when I watched the red carpet special, there weren’t many looks that blew me away right off the bat, but as the night went on, looks started to grow on me and we were able to figure out our top 5!
Golden Globe Awards 2017
Viola Davis in Michael Kors Collection
I spent a great deal of time today glued to my TV. Those hours of the red carpet and the actual award show aren’t hours that I can get back. My two takeaways? Well, I didn’t watch enough good movies in the last year and everyone that tried to pull off a long-sleeved dress this year on the red carpet failed. I did have a couple of favorite looks though and they came from those that surprised me! I always like doing this post the night of the award show so that people can have something to scroll through when morning comes around so with that here are my favorite looks as well as those that missed the mark.
I’m actually tired of this trend with dresses being one shouldered and have been for awhile, however, I love this color on Viola and she looks stunning. I also like that she decided to simplify both her and makeup so that the dress could just do its thing. The head-scratching moment of the night for this dress was when Ryan Seacrest asked her what color her dress was while everyone at home was like “um, can’t you tell what color this is?”
Sarah Jessica Parker wearing Vera Wang
Very rarely am I ever impressed by anything SJP wears. She looks like a marshmallow in this gown and I’m not happy with the way she styled her hair. The only way this look could redeem itself is if it were sleeveless and her hair were let down.
Justin Timberlake and the Tennessee Kids Trailer
I’m not someone that pays money for a lot of big production shows. I’ve never had an interest in seeing Beyonce or Kanye live, but I did see Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande within the last couple of years. And when I was much younger, Britney Spears like twice!
After watching this trailer though, I’m a little interested in seeing this which features Justin Timberlake on his 20/20 Experience World tour. The main footage comes from his Vegas show, but will highlight from 134 shows and two years of being on the road for this tour. I’ve always had a soft spot for Timberlake anyways so I’m sure I’ll really enjoy this.
Snaps for a Snapshot: 2016 Cannes Film Festival
Who: Bella Hadid
Wearing: Roberto Cavalli
Where: “Cafe Society” Premiere
We probably won’t be keeping up with this and doing multiple posts, but it did make sense to share some photos of some of our current favorite looks – just to give you a little snapshot! If you like what you see, well, then you – personally can continue following up with it. 🙂
My Favorite Pair of Best Friends
The two of them doing the “Single Ladies” dance at the US Open. They’re really having a week and the world. is. loving. it.
Also, I typically love these “History of Rap” things and they’ve always been my favorite, but this is probably my least – why so many pauses and breaks in between?!
Wedding Mondays
[vimeo http://vimeo.com/90272683]
It has been awhile since we’ve had a true Wedding Mondays post so today that’s what you’re getting. Swamped by work for these past few weeks, I’ve been playing catch up just getting through all of the weddings that I have missed. After I write this post I need to go back three weeks on Green Wedding Shoes to make sure I’m all caught up! Today’s post is really special because you not only get one video, but you get three! When I first read about this wedding on Style Me Pretty, they were highlighting a choreographed dance that the couple’s friends performed for them at their wedding and that they were a part of. In my head, I think I went – “oh boy, another poorly done choreographed dance from a couple that took maybe 5 weeks of a class for this.” Style Me Pretty teased the video by saying that things were about to get really good, but I didn’t believe it. Until I watched it. And thought it was so good that I had to watch it 3 more times after that.
It really is THAT good. So we’ve got three videos to document Connie and Tyler’s wedding – the choreographed dance, the proposal, and then the wedding film. I watched it in that order and it was the correct order to watch in order to fall in love with this couple more and more.
History of Rap Pt. 5
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NO0rArJRR4]
It’s been a long week, y’all. I was about to call it quits 30 minutes ago and head to bed, but then I was reminded that Justin Timberlake would be a guest on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon tonight. For those two, of course, I would stay up past 11:30 PM. After all, I don’t want to miss out on what could be an appearance of “History of Rap.” This wasn’t confirmed until now. You guys, I found the video. Here it is before it even airs on the West Coast. I’ve watched it and now I can sleep happily.
Happy Friday. Happy Weekend. Happy Justin Timberlake!
