Ravishing Radish Tasting

ravishing radish

If 2013 could be deemed the “year of” anything, it would be the year of firsts! Yesterday evening, I accompanied my favorite Bride-To-Be Natalie to an event hosted by Ravishing Radish for a catering tasting and open house. There, we were spoiled by cocktails and delicious edibles. Did I mention there was dessert? Sweet Peach Pie. You better believe it was amazing.

While I’ve always loved weddings and event planning, I naturally thought that I might love the idea of wedding planning. It seemed like a natural fit, but now I’m coming to the realization that it is actually pretty difficult! There are always so many moving parts and on top of that you’ve got to be on top of your customer service game. I’m not sure if I’m ready to ever make a career switch to that (probably never) but I will never turn down one of these events with Natalie. We had a great time at the event and even long after that when we discussed more weddings at the edge of the water on a dock. Seattle, I’ve got a big old crush on you.

The Weekend: 5 Things

mason

I can’t remember if I have mentioned this on Yow Yow! yet, but this month I am helping my friend Toby with her wedding planning gig and as her trusted little “minion” I accompanied her to Michael’s the other day so that we could pick out decorations! I’m so excited about this opportunity because it’s a combination of two things that I already love – weddings and event planning. We’ll keep you posted every step of the way.

When you’re in college, most of your friends typically live near school not just because it’s convenient for you and your friendship, but because it is convenient for them as well. When college ends, your friends disperse and that’s when the real challenge occurs. How do you remain close when you are no longer a couple doors down or a few blocks across? Meghan as since relocated to Maple Leaf in Seattle and we spent the afternoon catching up on her porch. Last year, I asked Meghan to write a guest post for Yow Yow and usually I leave this open ended hoping that my friends writing will share a story about themselves or their own insight. Instead, she wrote a mini biography on me and it was the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen.  I’ve asked her to write a follow-up post for Yow Yow! again and I have no doubts at all that she won’t surprise us with something spectacular.

Sunday brunch right on Lake Union!

art

I hadn’t been back to the Seattle Art Museum Outdoor Sculpture Park since it first opened – literally opening day! It was so nice to return to this space to see how it has changed over the years. We also didn’t want to miss an opportunity to “make” a photograph artsy ourselves.

momiji

When we decided to eat at Momiji for dinner we didn’t expect that they would have outdoor seating now next to their Japanese Garden. Of course, we had to take advantage of it and on a sunny Sunday.

The Weekend: 5 Things

ice cream

Hello!

I hope all of you had such a wonderful 4th of July weekend. This past weekend had me incredibly spoiled with happy hours, dinners, friends, and family!   Can we have 4-day weekends all of the time? Kevin and I have been craving ice cream sandwiches like when we were kids so today  we contemplated at the grocery store whether or not we should buy a box of 12 or a box of 16. In the end, it didn’t really matter because we got what we wanted all along.
