Lancome Will Re-Release Juicy Tubes

As a pre-teen, I was heavily influenced by what I saw in the magazines. Back then there weren’t blogs and there weren’t influencers, only celebrities. I was just allowed to start wearing light makeup, but can you really consider a lipgloss in this form real makeup? That was the argument I made at the time. I remembered reading about Juicy Tubes and a celebrity I followed at the time calling them her “obsession” in J-14. Next thing I knew, they were on my Christmas wish list and I received a pack of five mini tubes underneath the tree.

It was exactly what you expected out of a gloss. It was cute, portable, and sticky. A younger me didn’t know that well into my twenties, I would exclusively only use vaseline. But the brand and the piece itself remained desired. For it’s 20th anniversary, these juicy tubes will be available online for $20. There are 20 shades to choose from in three finishes – sparkle, creamy and jelly.

Beauty for Breakfast Pt. 26

Screen Shot 2016-06-04 at 10.39.03 AM

Going home for the holidays means a lot of things, but one of the best parts is acquiring all of the beauty products that Mom could do without. What would she do without me? Everything would just go to waste! To be honest, in our mid-20’s I still don’t know what I’m doing with most of my products, but I think it’s all pretty good for experimentation and I’m sure someday I’ll find a use for it. The good thing about my mini haul from this past December is that I use all THREE of these products all of the time.

I know that tube of Lancome mascara is small and very clearly a sample, but it’s gotten me through some tough times and is still functional 6 months later… though I think that means we’re close to the end with this one.

I purchased my Bare Minerals lipstick on the right solely for our holiday party last December, but still am very much in love with it. The color is perfect for a night out and glides on so smoothly. I’ve previously found that I get pretty bored with most of my lipsticks, but not this one.

The palette in the middle is also a sample from Lancome. It features powder for contouring, blush, and a highlighter and since this was my first time using it, I definitely had to look up a tutorial online for how to incorporate the three when using it. I still don’t even know if I’m doing it quite right, but A+ for effort…? I usually save this for an evening look, but there are times when I find it to be daytime appropriate. This shade of blush is a very pretty coral pink and ideal for any sun-kissed glow. The highlighter…well, we’re still trying to figure that one out!

Lancome Definicils Mascara in Black – $27.50

Lancome Blush Subtil Palette in 126 Nectar Lace – $43

Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Live Large – $18

Beauty for Breakfast Pt. 20

Dang, we’re at 20 posts for this series already! Actually, I’ve been wanting to write this post for quite some time because blush and I go waaaaaaay back. When I was in fourth grade, I started hanging out with a cool group of girls and like any kid, I wanted to fit in. They were already wearing things like really sticky lipgloss (beyond Lipsmackers) and heavy eyeliner. So I came home from school one day and I asked momz, “Can I wear your makeup?”

Honestly, my mom had plenty of things for me and I didn’t think she’d be too sad if she had to hand some of that down, but that wasn’t going to happen. Instead, she went into her room and came back out with one little compact. Blush. I remember thinking, “What am I gonna do with this? I need more than this to make THIS face look good!” But it’s all I got. And I’ve never forgotten it. Fourth grade me held onto that blush forever and I wore it everyday because well? beggers can’t be choosers. I wore it until I discovered bronzer, actually.

Today, I actually layer on my bronzer first before the blush and the blush that I’m currently using (and pictured above) is Lancome’s Blush Subtil in Shimmer Pink Pool also gifted to me from my mother.
