Album of the Week

In things that I’ve been listening to since it was released. I feel like Kevin and I have been waiting for this Sam Smith album FOREVER. And I say that because remember when I first posted about Sam Smith and it was just a very simple acoustic performance of his song “Latch” that I found in my Pinterest feed? That was back in May of 2013 and now you can’t go anywhere without anyone not knowing his name. The album is packed full of songs that I can’t get enough of listening to, but I’m sure I’m not telling you anything that you haven’t heard before. I did a poor job of streaming Coachella this year and missed every single performance. I’m very grateful that some of my favorite artists on Twitter are reposting some of their performances though so that I can play catch up. This Disclosure x Sam Smith performance of “Latch” is a song that I never get tired of.

What We’re Listening to Today

It was May of last year when I was first stumbled upon Sam Smith on Pinterest. Seriously though, of all places, this was one of the most unlikely that I would find music inspiration. Someone that I had followed had pinned his acoustic music video of “Latch” and instantly, I fell in love. Shortly after that the Disclosure version came out and everyone was nutting over that, but the stripped down version is so much more romantic and sweet. Yesterday, Sam Smith finally released his EP in the states and the first thing I did was add it to my Spotify. Here it is for all of you looking for something to listen to on this Wednesday!
