LCD Soundsystem Farewell

Was there anyone else besides me that watched it? Initially, I had not planned on it, but then there was something about knowing that it was their last show ever that made me feel called to stream it live from New York. I felt like such a music nerd making dinner just in time for the occasion so that I could sit down with my laptop and watch the performance. I had heard that the set would be four hours, but unfortunately I only lasted two. I’m sure it was an incredible experience for those that were able to make it to Madison Square Garden for the farewell show, but I  somehow struggled to enjoy it from the comfort of my own home. This is why it is crucial for us to continue to attend shows I suppose.

Regardless, LCD Soundsystem was great! I wish I could have been there to witness it all go down in history. Farewell LCD Soundsystem. Thank you for the good music and the good times.

If you missed it, you can watch the entire 3hr and 41 minute show here.

LCD Soundsystem’s Last Show will be streaming live

On April 2nd, Pitchfork will be live streaming LCD Soundsystem’s last show ever from Madison Square Garden. Since this is the grand finale and many of their fans will not be present, Pitchfork is giving everyone the opportunity to watch the show that is about to go down in music history.

The stream will only be shown once and as promised by the group, will last three hours long and include special guests performances!

Well, I guess I know what I will be doing Saturday night now.

LCD Soundsystem announces last show ever

First The White Stripes, now LCD Soundsystem? Ok, the two groups are very different from each other, but such huge influences in the music industry nonetheless. LCD Soundsystem will play one last show before they retire at Madison Square Garden on April 2nd. Though the show will be a sad goodbye, the band promises a night of fun and shenanigans with a three-hr set and performing songs never even released.

Bummer. I hope it’s not too late to adopt their song “Pow Pow” as the theme song of “Yow Yow.”
