Bridal Fall 2020

[Zuhair Murad]

I know we’ve spent what feels like the last month covering Fashion Week so I won’t drag this any longer, but we couldn’t not cover Bridal. Elynn recently brought me along with her as she tried on her first wedding dresses and the experience has completely changed my perspective. Dresses that I thought I’d love, I’d now say no to. There were some dresses that I never thought would be my style, but would now be open to trying. The tip? Try everything. Try what you know you will love and even those that you think you might not love because you honestly don’t know until you have it on. I’ll be sharing more details about my experience with Elynn soon, but for now, here are all of my favorite looks! It’s also surprising to see how my tastes have changed even from [2018]!

Emmy’s Red Carpet 2019

Zendaya in Vera Wang

Wow way to shut a red carpet down. After the game, I watched the red carpet on television and look after look, I continued to be underwhelmed. The show had begun and I still was refreshing different blogs to see if anything else would come in that would stun me. Halfway through the show was when we saw Zendaya. Channeling Poison Ivy vibes in this beautiful Vera Wang, she absolutely steals the show. After every award show, I always post my favorite 5-7 looks on Instagram Stories. This year, we only needed the one.

Bridal Spring 2020

Jenny Packham

We’ve been neglecting Yow Yow! lately for work and planning our upcoming travels. These days, the only time I can squeeze time in is on the weekends, but we try to make them count. I completely missed every collection of Bridal Week, but I’ve managed to pull out some of my favorite looks for all of you. This year’s wedding season is surprisingly quite light, but you know what that means? Next year will be a full schedule and I’m almost sure of it. While we’ve only got one more wedding this year, I’m so excited to see what she chooses for her gown. Up ahead? The challenging part of me narrowing favorite looks.

2019 Oscars After Parties

Gabrielle Union in Valentino

If you thought the red carpet was the main event, think again! Coming up, you’ll find looks that are a little more daring. The slits are higher, hemlines shorter, and everyone that wasn’t invited to the actual event shows up for the party. These looks were designed for the after parties and it’s something to get excited about! Many of the nominees arrive to the after party events in a second look! Like every year, this year’s event was no exception and everyone looked grand.

Readers, any standout favorites for y’all?

2017 Emmys Red Carpet

Millie Bobby Brown wearing Calvin Klein

Whenever I get the chance, I always try to watch the earlier showing of the Emmys. How is this thing still three hours long? For the first time in a long time, I actually stayed pretty quiet on social media this time around. We didn’t live tweet the red carpet this year – mainly because I was still watching the Seahawks game during it and we didn’t tweet during the show. Overall, I think the show had a slow start. Stephen Colbert was okay as a host, but the biggest takeaway for me tonight was all of the people recognized. The most exciting part of the awards show was being able to celebrate a more diverse group of winners than ever before. What did everyone else think?

Looks looks and more looks below!

Wedding Mondays

[vimeo http://vimeo.com/129574704]

Wow, I have something really really special to share with you all today. I’ve known quite a few people from high school and college that have gotten married in the last few years, but not all of them have had a wedding video so when someone I know has one, I get very excited! Very recently, a college classmate of mine tied the knot with his fiance (now wife!) Monica and they have an AMAZING wedding video. Justin and Monica got married at San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barabara which I’ve always seen featured on wedding blogs and looks even more beautiful in their video than in just photos! I haven’t decided which moment in this video is the sweetest – seeing our friend Anthony tear up while giving his speech or seeing Justin serenade Monica… you can’t hear the song from the wedding video, but in case you were wondering… – it’s Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud.” We’re hoping Justin will send us the professional video of this if/when it comes out. Another major MAJOR detail that I love about this wedding is Monica’s Lela Rose wedding dress. It’s absolutely stunning, isn’t it?

Justin and I shared a few mutual friends and even worked together very briefly when I was managing another classmate of ours’ singing career during my senior year. Justin backed her up on vocals I think, but mostly accompanied her on guitar. I mean he was a gem and it’s been a few years since I’ve seen him, but in watching this video I just felt so proud of the person he grew up into. Justin and Monica – I’m wishing you both endless years of happiness together and a very loving marriage.
