Call them hipster or call them indie, but at the end of the day, their formal name is the “Manic Pixie Dream Girl.” For those of you who are unfamiliar with the term, a manic pixie dream girl is that girl in a film who is cute, bubbly and full of surprises. She’s a little kooky, but you love her for that and so do the male leads. They are the ones who are drawn to them the most and by the end of the movie, the guys have a completely new perspective on life. That’s right – the manic pixie dream girls are magical. On the other hand, women are the ones at the end of the movie questioning if they have to be more manic to get the guy.

Anyways, Moviefone published an article earlier this week about the time they interviewed Kirsten Dunst and asked her if she was aware that she was a manic pixie dream girl.
