N.E.R.D pays a visit to Seattle University

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMhGOSr7Qs4]

This post is way overdue, but earlier this month the boys of N.E.R.D. visited our campus to give a mini lecture to the students. The group released their latest album, “Nothing” that day and while I wished there would have been a performance out of it, I can understand that the event was put together on pretty short notice and the band had had limited time with us. I was actually most impressed by the way Pharrell and Shay had answered the questions by our faculty member and by the students. However, there was DEFINITELY not enough Chad Hugo.

Above is a little clip from the event and below are some pictures taken from the event.

Credit to Victoria Holt for the last four.

Timberland + Pharrell

Timberland and Pharrell Williams of N.E.R.D. have collaborated on a new shoe project.

“Timberland has been a part of my life since I was a kid,” said N.E.R.D. frontman, and all around beautiful person, Pharrell Williams, who also co-owns Bionic Yarn, a company that creates fabrics made from 50% organic cotton and 38% recycled plastic bottles.

The line, expected to drop in January, will have about 90 different variations for shoes and boots.

N.E.R.D. – Nothing

I cannot wait to get my hands on this new album. I’ve been a fan of N.E.R.D., The Neptunes, and Mr. Pharrell Williams himself for a very very long time. Last Friday, I received a call from their management asking to work together next month and I had a mini panic attack. Those things just don’t happen everyday!

Anyways, if you’ve got tickets to the Gorillaz, then you will definitely catch some of their new songs from the album because they are opening! They’ll be in Seattle on November 2nd.

Tracklisting:

1. “Party People” feat. T.I.
2. “Hypnotize U”
3. “Help Me”
4. “Victory”
5. “Perfect Defect”
6. “I’ve Seen the Light” / “Inside of Clouds” (Interlude)
7. “God Bless Us All”
8. “Life as a Fish”
9. “Nothing on You”
10. “Hot-N-Fun” feat. Nelly Furtado
