Sienna and Savannah Abandon Twenty8Twelve

Six years ago, the sisters revealed their new collaborative collection and it was a hit! Now, WWD is reporting that both Sienna and Savannah will be leaving the line and future designs will be handled by the current design team. This makes me a little nervous especially since their line is one of my favorites, but what does this mean exactly and where is it coming from?

Managing director, Nish Soneji, commented to the trade,

We’ve had a great partnership with the Miller sisters. From the beginning, our mission was to create a contemporary label with its own identity and strong directional design, as well as an emphasis on quality, cut and finishing. That vision, along with the uniquely British style the collection has become known for, will continue under the direction of the Twenty8Twelve design team.

Soneji said that the bulk of the Miller sisters’ contribution “came much more from the product perspective.”

It almost seems as if the the design team was running the entire show, doesn’t it? As shocked as I am from this news, I can’t say that I am that surprised because that type of partnership is not uncommon when working with celebrities. It always seems to come out in the end that celebrities are not nearly as tied to the brands or collections as we once thought.
