In the News…Weekend Edition

Yay Neil Patrick Harris!!

– Hillary Duff and Mike Comrie just got married tonight in Santa Barbara.  Hillary wore Vera Wang [of course.] Scans and pictures will be released Thursday by OK! Magazine, but we all hope it’s a little bit sooner. Question – why do people go to OK! Magazine – there are other magazines out there…better ones too…

– The Glee cast is pushing for a Michael Jackson episode. Haven’t they have enough? Madonna episode – Britney episode. I wish they would just go back to having non-themed episodes. [Source]

– Cheryl Cole will be keeping her last name as Cole and not going back to Tweedy. [Source]

– Joe Jonas has filed a lawsuit against Canadian entertainment blogger Zach Taylor for a posting that claimed Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato were “friends with benefits” [Source]

– Meet the Toronto version of Jersey Shore. Lake Shore. [Source] Because everyone wants to be the next Snooki and The Situation.

Drew Barrymore recently walked the red carpet for the Nylon Magazine/Express party this week in a vintage dress that cost her only $25. Don’t worry her Yves Saint Laurent “Tribute” pumps are $760. [Source]

Nerd Boyfriend

“What do you look for in a guy/girl?”

A nice personality is the response that most people give but that’s not always necessarily true is it? The truth is, there’s always going to be someone with a nice personality. It might not be a personality that you like but it’s nice and it’s there but I bet you could be a little more specific. Sometimes I change it up a little by saying, “a nice personality and someone with a nice FACE.” but honestly at this point I don’t really know my type as of yet.

There’s guys that want the girl next door and there are girls who want the bad boy but there are also girls (like myself) who also want the “nerd boyfriend.” Peaches Geldof recently shared with us in her column in Nylon about how she absolutely adores nerds and then I realized there are SO many girls out there who want that same thing. They are seriously underrated, ie: Adam Brody? Michael Cera?

Introducing…

Now along with their magazine the company will start adding bands and musicians to their label!

And the first band to sign? The Plastiscines. Their first single will be Barcelona and will be released on iTunes next Tuesday.

Nylon Doesn’t Disappoint

So back in December while shopping around at Urban, I was looking at the counter where I check out. They usually have a lot of random trinkets there, lip gloss, stuff I could care less about it, advertisements of new music but this time I see a subscription slip that advertises “SUBSCRIBE TO NYLON MAGAZINE THROUGH URBAN FOR A YEAR FOR FREE” okay that’s not what it really said, but you get the idea.

Too good to be true right?

I fill out the slip, mail it. Call my mom every once in awhile to see if my new issue came (especially the one with Camilla Belle on the cover) and NOTHING.

So imagine my surprise when I check my email tonight and find a message from Nylon saying that they received my subscription slip and every month saying that they will send me the full issue of the magazine in the online version as opposed to print yet it’s still the same thing. It will also be sent immediately after the editors sign off on it.

Guess they didn’t forget about me after all, Thanks Nylon!
