oreo thin

I learned a few weeks ago that my favorite childhood cookie was releasing a new kind of cookie… the OREO THIN! Unfortunately, I missed the boat where I could receive a free sampling of it and instead had to wait for it to arrive in stores. Well, I waited…and waited…and waited… Three weeks had passed and they still weren’t on the shelves of my local Safeway. Trust me – I checked. Just when I had thought about giving up on the whole thing entirely, there it was… I had to buy a pack. I wanted to buy two, but I exercised self control. Since, it’s not all that cool to finish an entire package of Oreo’s by yourself anymore, I decided to bring it in for my coworkers, but not before sending out this email to them:

I’ve been hunting down Oreo Thins at the grocery store for several weeks now since they have been released. Just this weekend, they finally arrived at my Safeway.

I brought them in for people to try!! They are as thin as a pencil! Less calories! Super cute and adorable!

Oreo Thins

I had a small opportunity yesterday where I could sign up for a free packet of Oreo Thins and I completely blew it! I didn’t know that the window to sign up would close and when I went back today to sign up for real, I realized I had missed it by just a couple of hours. Imagine my disappoint. Oreos hold a very special place in my heart. I promise you, no one asked me to say that. The very first time I ever looked at a photo of myself or could even comprehend what that was like, I was a very small baby eating Oreos for the first time with crumbs and cream all over my face. I was sat next to my brother who clearly found this very amusing, but what baby isn’t?! When I heard about Oreo Thins, I knew I had to have it. Kevin and I used to get a packet of Oreos all the time as kids, but I’d always stop after 2 or 3 because they made me so full. However, a thinner cookie means that I can shove a whole lot more in my mouth without feeling like I need to stop.

Apparently, the new Oreo Thins are as thin as pencils – naturally because it’s a thinner cookie and it’s filled with less cream. Four of these cookie add up to about 140 calories – not that I really care about that that much though. I don’t count. These are hitting shelves next week and I can’t wait to sample them for you all and let you know if it’s really the best thing ever.
