BAFTAs 2020 Red Carpet

Florence Pugh in Dries van Noten

I thought we were going to have a little bit of a break this week from award show season with the Super Bowl happening, but I was wrong! Sure, the British Academy Film Awards is not a US award show, but it does recognize nearly all of the other films that are nominated here in the states. This year’s red carpet is one of my favorites! Coincidentally enough, at the top of my list are a handful of all black gowns which I can’t wait to share with you below. Can any of you guess my favorites?

2020 Screen Actors Guild Awards Red Carpet

Kathryn Newton in Valentino

I know it’s a little bit early to be saying this, but this might be my favorite red carpet set in a very long time. We are loving the color, the beautiful black gowns, and the off-the-shoulder looks. It was hard to narrow down my favorites and even as I’m thinking about it, I don’t know if I even can. We still have the upcoming Grammy’s and the Oscars, but this has set the bar high!

Bridal Fall 2020

[Zuhair Murad]

I know we’ve spent what feels like the last month covering Fashion Week so I won’t drag this any longer, but we couldn’t not cover Bridal. Elynn recently brought me along with her as she tried on her first wedding dresses and the experience has completely changed my perspective. Dresses that I thought I’d love, I’d now say no to. There were some dresses that I never thought would be my style, but would now be open to trying. The tip? Try everything. Try what you know you will love and even those that you think you might not love because you honestly don’t know until you have it on. I’ll be sharing more details about my experience with Elynn soon, but for now, here are all of my favorite looks! It’s also surprising to see how my tastes have changed even from [2018]!

Oscar de la Renta

Are y’all aware that I have a very soft spot for the color Chartreuse? It’s no surprise that every season we fall in love with Oscar de la Renta. This year is no different. Even though we’re a day behind, I was watching videos of this show all over my Instagram yesterday. I’ve had these looks etched in the back of my mind just waiting to make this post!

2019 Met Gala Red Carpet

Liza Koshy in Balmain

I had to look up the “Camp” theme several times to figure out what it truly meant. I’m still not quite sure if I understand the definition of it. My takeaway is that it’s pink, tulle, and crowns and we do not hate it. In all honesty, I’m a huge fan of the pink carpet and I loved many of the looks from the evening. However, I will say that this year was the most extravagant. What I loved about previous years was how wearable these looks have been and instead it’s turned into a little bit more of a spectacle than I would have liked. Maybe that’s what the point of the Met Gala is. It’s supposed to be a showcase of whimsey and imagination and if that’s the. case then I will get on board next year, but for now I want to hold onto what I thought made this event on the first Monday in May every year so special.

Bridal Spring 2020

Jenny Packham

We’ve been neglecting Yow Yow! lately for work and planning our upcoming travels. These days, the only time I can squeeze time in is on the weekends, but we try to make them count. I completely missed every collection of Bridal Week, but I’ve managed to pull out some of my favorite looks for all of you. This year’s wedding season is surprisingly quite light, but you know what that means? Next year will be a full schedule and I’m almost sure of it. While we’ve only got one more wedding this year, I’m so excited to see what she chooses for her gown. Up ahead? The challenging part of me narrowing favorite looks.

2019 Oscars After Parties

Gabrielle Union in Valentino

If you thought the red carpet was the main event, think again! Coming up, you’ll find looks that are a little more daring. The slits are higher, hemlines shorter, and everyone that wasn’t invited to the actual event shows up for the party. These looks were designed for the after parties and it’s something to get excited about! Many of the nominees arrive to the after party events in a second look! Like every year, this year’s event was no exception and everyone looked grand.

Readers, any standout favorites for y’all?

2019 Oscars Red Carpet

Constance Wu in Versace

The award show has only just begun, but we decided to get a head start on our post. There are so many standout looks this year and a few surprises. I found myself falling in love with a look worn by an actress who has a history of never having looks that impress me. Anything can happen! This year, the awards show is without a host, but we honestly haven’t noticed much of a difference. Here are the looks from this evening and I’ll be sure to indicate my favorites!
