Outside Lands 2021

It’s official, Outside Lands 2020 is cancelled. Attempting to build anticipation, the festival organizers have already released the lineup for 2021 and will begin selling tickets. With everyone going on, it’s unlikely that we’ll see any live musical events before the end of the year. It just means that we’ll have to take full advantage of the next year given all that we’ve endured. Readers, how are we feeling about this lineup? I’m not sure if it’s because I’ve been out of the loop, but I recognize very few of these acts. Lizzo was a major player in last year’s festival circuit, but I have been wanting to see Kehlani for years!

2019 Outside Lands

Y’all, after being in the Bay Area for 5.5 years, this is THE year that I go to Outside Lands. Of the headlines, I’m most excited for Anderson . Paak and Kacey Musgraves!

Outside Lands 2018 Lineup

Every year the lineup comes out, I have this back and forth with myself. I think about the acts that I might want to see and the acts that I don’t care to see. I think about how much this is going to cost me and if I want to miss work for it. I wonder if the food and drinks are really worth it because that’s something you have to consider when it’s a festivals that considers themselves more than just a music festival.

This year was different. I saw the lineup and I pretty much made a decision immediately. We’re going. At least one day.

Outside Lands 2016

How exciting is this lineup?! LIONEL RICHIE AMIRITE?!

Okay, but actually this is probably one of the first lineups from Outside Lands since I’ve been living here that I’m a little bit excited about. I haven’t quite made up my mind just yet, but Snakehips Miguel, Miike Snow, Kehlani, and Years & Years could change my mind. Actually – who are we kidding – Kehlani is ENOUGH for me to make me want to go.

Outside Lands 2015

We’re not going! I’ve lived here for almost two years now and I still haven’t been to an Outside Lands. You’d think having come from Seattle that this would’ve been the first thing I would have done, but as strange as it is, it’s not. Does that mean I’m growing up? Having new interests? Over music? Probably not that last one. Actually after missing Outside Lands last year because my boyfriend at the time and I were too fatigued and kind of forgot to get tickets, I experienced just a little bit of FOMO. I was hoping that I’d want to go this year, but I wasn’t totally into the headliners especially after seeing Sam Smith this past February already. Though, I wasn’t willing to shell out the dough, I’m sure Outside Lands is still worth it. Everyone seems to like it so that says a lot! If I were going, here are the acts that I would see each day:

Friday:

  • The Drums
  • Leon Bridges
  • Robert Delong
  • Chet Faker
  • Porter Robinson
  • D’Angelo and the Vanguard
  • Wilco

Saturday:

  • Misterwives
  • Classixx
  • Laura Marling
  • Toro Y Moi
  • G – Easy
  • Kendrick Lamar
  • The Black Keys

Sunday:

  • Givers
  • Ryn Weaver
  • Dan Deacon
  • Odesza
  • Hot Chip
  • Sam Smith

Enjoy!
