Passion Pit to drop new album this spring

News this morning could not be more exciting. [Hence why I’m pulling from news that happened last week.] At the V Festival, singer Michael Angelakos announced that they would be releasing a sophomore album this spring, “It’s gonna be a really fantastic, exciting, beautiful, gorgeous record,” he said. “An absolutely beautiful record. I’m so excited.” It’s not too late to jump on the band wagon, you can still start listening to their first album Manners until the new album comes out later next year.

My favorite songs from Manners:

  • Sleepyhead
  • The Reeling
  • Little Secrets
  • Folds in Your Hands

The whole album is incredible.

Tegan and Sara produce new album w/ one song

If you’ve ever listened to the song “Alligator” by Tegan and Sara you would know that it is a damn good song. In fact, it’s so good that Tegan and Sara have decided to release a new album with that song remixed 17 times. What’s going to make this CD worthy of purchasing? Remixes will be done by none other than, Passion Pit, Holy Fuck, and Ra Ra Riot just to name a few. The exclusive album will be released through iTunes on March 30th. Tegan and Sara will be opening for Paramore this summer on the Honda Civic Tour.

Song of the Day

Tim & Jean – Come Around

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpcURomQPjM]

These guys are so freakin’ cute! I’m almost sort of refusing to believe that they are just 15 and 18, because it’s…illegal, but knowing that they are makes their whole project so much more impressive. The two hail from Perth, Australia and even though they only have a couple songs out right now, this one has been blowing up all over blogs. The song is super catchy and reminds me a lot of Passion Pit and Friendly Fires.

These guys are kids. Their age puts them at that level, but their talent and drive is incredibly refreshing. It’s nice to know that people at their age can still have ambitions and can work so hard to make things happen for them. So congratulations to them on their success and a great hit song!

PS22 kiddies

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-upCBD3h9E&feature=player_embedded]

There’s nothing cuter than hearing a group of kids perform a rendition of a song. Prepare to be amazed by this choir singing Jay Z’s “Run This Town.” Note the girls’ in the crowd being all sassy.

To learn more about the PS22 chorus, check out their blog here where they’ve received praise from celebrites such as Ashton Kutcher, Beyonce and Lady Gaga. I can’t believe it’s THEM I’m hearing on Passion Pit’s song “The Reeling!”
