2017 Met Gala Red Carpet
I wanted so badly to get home early Monday evening so that I could have this post ready in time for Tuesday morning as a recap, but of course, we stayed at work a little bit later that night. The good thing about writing this post now though is that I feel like I’m not under a time crunch and I can really take my time with it.
Bee Shaffer is not exactly “in” the fashion world, but her mother is Anna Wintour and every year she continues to stun. This was one of my favorite looks from the evening. Here she is wearing Alexander McQueen with her fiance Francesco Carrozzini. #powercouple

Viola Davis in Michael Kors Collection
I spent a great deal of time today glued to my TV. Those hours of the red carpet and the actual award show aren’t hours that I can get back. My two takeaways? Well, I didn’t watch enough good movies in the last year and everyone that tried to pull off a long-sleeved dress this year on the red carpet failed. I did have a couple of favorite looks though and they came from those that surprised me! I always like doing this post the night of the award show so that people can have something to scroll through when morning comes around so with that here are my favorite looks as well as those that missed the mark.
I’m actually tired of this trend with dresses being one shouldered and have been for awhile, however, I love this color on Viola and she looks stunning. I also like that she decided to simplify both her and makeup so that the dress could just do its thing. The head-scratching moment of the night for this dress was when Ryan Seacrest asked her what color her dress was while everyone at home was like “um, can’t you tell what color this is?”
Sarah Jessica Parker wearing Vera Wang
Very rarely am I ever impressed by anything SJP wears. She looks like a marshmallow in this gown and I’m not happy with the way she styled her hair. The only way this look could redeem itself is if it were sleeveless and her hair were let down.
Pharrell Gets Interviewed by British Kids
Is this not the most adorable thing you’ve seen in a long time? Can I have a British kid? Pharrell did a press conference for his new book “Happy” and was asked questions by the most darling batch of kids.

Jay Z and Beyonce in Michael Costello – wow that dress is so close to some kind of a wardrobe malfunction or a slip? What would we call this?
Quarterly Co.

Is there anyone in the world who doesn’t enjoy receiving packages? Since I went to college so close to home, I was always so jealous of my friends who got care packages from their families. I think my mother sensed this and had asked me if I wanted her to make me one so that I could feel included, but that would’ve seemed kind of silly! Companies these days like BirchBox and SquareHue are catering to those who love surprise packages in the form of a monthly subscription containing beauty products and nail polish, respectively.
Quarterly Co. however, operates differently. Products that get shipped out quarterly are selected by companies and curators some of which include Pharrell Williams, Cool Hunting, Nina Garcia, and Bill Nye among others. Each shipment from one of their contributors tells a story about the gift inside. We like surprises so this sounds like something we could definitely get behind. To learn more click here.
Instagram of the Day

The British Vogue Instagram account posted this photograph yesterday featuring our favorite guy – Pharrell Williams and our favorite model Cara Delevingne and from what we have seen of the September issue spread so far – it’s pretty spectacular. The two look great together and here’s hoping that there will be more collaborations between the two!

Last night, Robin Thicke performed his latest single “Blurred Lines” alongside Pharrell Williams and T.I. on The Voice! If you remember, this song was used in our Yow Yow! promo video so of course we did our duty in posting it.
Happy Birthday!

In your honor, I’ll be listening to “Blurred Lines” all day…
