This or That: Pikachu’s New Haircut

In 2018, I wouldn’t call myself an avid Pokemon follower, but what the heck happened to Pikachu? Honestly, I’m indifferent. I loved the original Pikachu look, but this upgrade is so cheeky and endearing that I don’t hate it. Is this a semi-half bowl cut? Does it look like Pika has a little bit of a glossier sheen? Its bangs even look better than bangs on a normal human being usually. We give this look 8/10.

Apparently, this look isn’t permanent, but rather a haircut you can give your Pikachu in a new video game. If you’re a fan of the original look, don’t you worry. It hasn’t gone anywhere.

Pokemon & Fashion

I’m not exactly sure where someone had the idea to combine Pokemon with fashion editorials, but the person who created the Tumblr is kind of a creative genius. It makes sense when you think of it logically.

Fashion editorials can sometimes be a little silly.

Pokemon characters are a reminder of my silly childhood collection.

Together, the two add up to one quirky image that you might even wish existed in real life.

A Collection Part 10

Image heavy. But absolutely necessary. It’s the last “A Collection Part…” post of the year! If you haven’t learned by now why these are some of my favorite posts to make, then you haven’t been paying attention.

If you were to put all of these pictures into a book and read them as a story without words, what would it tell you? I feel like every collection reflects some sort of a pattern from start to finish. This is what I feel or am drawn to right. now. The truth is, I go through hundreds of pictures. Hundreds. And I choose the ones that stand out to me at THAT moment. It’s this moment right here. If I were to go over the picture above maybe tomorrow, I might overlook it. I used to say that my blog was an outlet for me to sometimes express the way I’m feeling about something that I couldn’t directly say in person. Sometimes I use these collections to do the exact same thing.

What have you learned about me so far?

Get the eyes of an anime character

Many people love all things anime, the hit animations created in Japan. Known for their large eyes, pointy faces, and limbs longer than life. There’s plenty of anime merchandise to be found, from costumes to figurines to a whole anime bedding set with one’s favourite character on it. More and more, people are wanting to be closer to their favourite animes than before. Many ask for anime gifts for their birthdays and Christmas, and some even go as far as wanting to dress as their favorite characters to fully live their fantasies. And Geo lenses have made that dream one step closer to reality.

GEO lenses has recently created extra-wide contact lenses that are designed to give you the appearance of an anime character. Only now can you achieve the appearance of somebody from a cartoonporno hentai movie. As for the lenses though, not only are they tinted unnatural colours but they also are heavily tinted beyond the normal rim of your eye. Some of the lenses also feature very unnatural iris formations, such as the Sharingan from the popular anime Naruto. Or spiraling “hypno eyes” that one might see in a animehentaivideos.xxx animation, where – as the name suggests – one is hypnotised under a spell.

All in all, these lenses could easily creep out someone who does not understand anime very quickly. And to some anime fans, it may creep them out regardless. The uncanny valley is quite real and may be a hurdle that Geo lenses has to work around if their new product is to become a hit. Just because someone wearing these contacts would be reminiscent of someone straight out of Pokemon or Sailor Moon , perhaps we are not quite ready for that just yet. It may be some time before we are prepared to encounter a “Misty” or “Sasuke” fan down the street.
