2019 Grammy’s Red Carpet

Leon Bridges

Oh man, if I had to pick the most enjoyable award show to watch of the year, it would have to be this one. From start to finish, I loved so many of the performances. There were even some that surprised me! There were also many artists that won this year who were so deserving: Dua Lipa, H.E.R. and Kacey Musgraves to name a few. Every year the red carpet at The Grammy’s tends to be hit or miss and this year is no different. I have fewer favorites than I usually do, but it’s still important for us to showcase them.

Why Post Malone Is So Damn Catchy

I had a chat with a student from my alma mater yesterday who was interested in working in the music industry. While I didn’t take that path myself, having that conversation alone really took me back. Talking about music and that time in my life felt easy. It’s as if six years haven’t gone by already and that I haven’t been in my actual career for that long. In reality, six years is a long time though. I told him that while I miss music sometimes and often wonder if I had gone down that path, there are still ways to keep that part of my life active. I try to go to concerts every once in awhile though it’s not once a week like it was when I was a teenager. Keeping up with new music and new artists and bands is easier with Spotify. On top of that, I get to use Yow Yow! as my music outlet for things that I find interesting and writing about it even if it’s not a constant in my life.

Here’s a piece tonight from VICE that I found quite interesting. I have always listened to Post Malone, but couldn’t figure out why I even liked him and why he was intriguing to me in the first place. This gave me the answer I was basically looking for.

Cover of the Day

This cover of “White Iverson” that JoJo did makes the original sound like a completely different song. In a good way!
